Circular Conversations

I just had the most circular conversation EVER with my grandmother! I am beyond frustrated…so I felt the need to blog about this. >.<

G: Why didn’t you call Eddie back?

Me: I don’t know who Eddie is.

G: He’s a family friend. We gave him your phone number so he could invite you to his Sabbath school.

Me: He never called me.

G: Yes, he told us he did. And you never called him back.

Me: Grammie, I never received a phone call or a voice message from him. He must have misdialed or something.

G: Well, he thinks you’re being rude.

Me: He said that?

G: Well…no…but you should call him back.

Me: I don’t have his phone number. How can I call him back?

G: You should go to his Sabbath school.

Me: What’s the name of the Sabbath school? Where’s it located?

G: I don’t know. You’ll have to ask Eddie.

Me: Well, tell him to call me to give me the information.

G: I don’t think so. He called you once; he’s not going to call again. You should call him.

Me: I don’t have his phone number. I don’t know who he is.

G: Call him back.

Me: What’s his phone number?

G: I don’t know. I’ll have to look it up.

Me: I’m not in the habit of calling people I don’t know.

G: Well you should because you hurt his feelings by not calling back.

Me: Grammie! He NEVER called me! We’ve never met. How can his feelings be hurt?

G: You should go to that Sabbath school.

Me: But I don’t know where it is.

G: Ask Eddie where it is.

Me: Tell him to call me and give me the information.

G: No. You should call him.

Me: I give up. I have to go now.
