You've been, on and off, exploring around the edges of the circus when you're sure you won't be caught. You're really intrigued by their sense of family, even if you won't admit it. But even then, you still won't enter the big tent. The small tents, however, are fair game. As long as there's no one inside.

You stealthily make your way into one of the smaller tents, making sure before you entered that there wasn't anyone around. A lot of cages, but apart from that, no one. You still remained silent, all senses alert. You smell someone else in here, and even through smell you can tell it wasn't by choice. When you approach one of the cages, you stop and turn to look into it, tilting your head. "John?"

You twitch your nose a little and look around. Jane's not home. No one online seems to want to interact, either. You give a little sigh and remember something. An alternate of you said you could tweak your transportalizer gun to send you places you wanted to go.

Sitting down in your room, dressed in just a long-sleeved and a skirt, clothes Jane cave you, you begin working. Taking it apart, examining it, figuring out how it works. It's really quite complicated. When you walk across the room to grab your laptop, is when something bad happens.

It happens in an instant, really. The gun went off on its own. Space and time are ripped apart around you, and you're hurtled somewhere you've never been before, deposited on your hands and knees.

You're panicing. That's the first thing you do. You check and see if you have any communication devices on you...No, you didn't. Your phone had been on its charger, and you hadn't reached your laptop in time. Standing up, you realize it's cold. You were barefoot and in a skirt, and outside. Looking around for some sort of shelter, you'd hope to find someone that had a phone, or something you could use to get home.

You've managed to get the kids into bed for their nap, but now you have nothing to do but wait for Dirk to return from wherever he went. You make your careful way to the couch and sit down, your wings folded tight to your back. You contemplate turning on a movie, then laugh at yourself inwardly.

You sigh and lean back against the couch, closing your unseeing eyes. Before long, you've dozed off, practically oblivious to your surroundings as you take a short, light nap.

[[FYI: Okay so in order to keep Opal pacified (and have some cute fluffy times) and also keep up my RP with circusanon, we're going to do some time skipping stuff with Opal and fast forward to some point in the future when Dave is out of the circus and can get babied like crazy. It's a little bit AU and things will also probably end up changing depending on what happens with circusanon, but we'll see. Otherwise, Dave should still be considered to be at the circus, etc. Hopefully this will work out!]]

You circle your cave one last time, kicking at some pebbles and making sure you haven't left anything you're going to need behind. You're a bit surprised at yourself for finally deciding to go through with this. Ever since your change in appearance, you've made a point of isolating yourself from others, hoping to avoid the odd looks you invariably receive, or the copious amount of pity from people who claim they want to help. But this time is different. This time you're going to stay with Opal (and her kids), not just because she wants to baby you and take care of you. No, when you're with Opal, you actually feel kind of normal again. You realized a while ago that she actually cares about you, in spite of your abnormalities.

You stretch your wings carefully and adjust the bag on your back as you stand in the entrance of your former nest and take a last look around, memorizing the details before you leave for good. Hopefully it will be a long time before you see this place again, since now you've got a new nest (and a family) waiting for you somewhere warm and safe. You take a deep breath and finally turn your back on the cave, taking a step away and flapping your wings once as you prepare to take off, ready to head off to a better place.
