what was up with guardians of the galaxy? :o im going to watch it this weekend.
*cracks knuckles* oKAY. Spoilers ahead, please be warned.
ok so basically the biggest overall issue was how damn boring Nebula and Gamora were. There was absolutely no effort put into their characterization - from start to finish they were kind of just there as plot devices, Nebula doing basically nothing at all, and Gamora being there to be a damsel in distress for Quill, or to advance other character's journeys, such as Drax (who was a disaster of a character, I'll get to that later). The writers gave Gamora nothing to do, other than to pop in at the right time so that other people, who were always male, could have moments of character development, while she did pmuch nothing else than beat up a few guards. Not to mention the fact that both she and Nebula were kind of the stereotype of the Strong Female Character - if they had been given more development, I'm sure it wouldn't have been that bad, but they were both characters that basically could have been male but they made female and gave tight outfits to, and certainly not to draw in female viewers. then, there were a lot of isolated moments throughout that were super cringe-worthy. In the very beginning of the movie, they had the tamest of these incidents, which was setting up Quill as the stereotypical action hero as he forgets about a girl he slept with, who btw is pretty hot. It wasn't even offensive, it was just tiresome, and, as I put it when I was discussing it with my friend, was a moment of self-insertion by the male writers as they wanked all over the script.
then there was drax. for so many other reasons, drax was an awful character who just made you roll your eyes at his melodramatic everything, but he kept referring to Gamora with incredibly sexist language (he calls her a whore at one point for no reason other than she's a woman) and he gets away with it. At one point Gamora kind of calls him out on it, but barely. The writing of it was terrible and it just comes across as plain misogynistic, because it kind of was.
theeeen there's the worst of the worst, the girl in the cage. when we first see the collector, he's yelling at his incredibly feminine (dress and pigtails here) servant/slave for not cleaning properly, and he reminds her of the last servant who didn't do what he wanted, camera pans to a cage with a girl in it with pretty cruel looking restraints. hoooooooooly shit. no, you're not exactly supposed to think that that's good behaviour, but still, it was unnecessary, and so incredibly sexist?? not to mention, later on, the slave who was cleaning tries to free herself and ends up destroying a lot of shit and killing herself, which sends a bad message because it makes her seem stupid for trying to free herself from her abuser basically that whole scene was a disaster of accidental (or purposeful? who knows, i didn't ask the writers) misogyny.
unfortunately there were a lot of other moments throughout that made it incredibly sexist, but those were the worst of them. don't get me wrong, i enjoyed myself at the film, it was really funny and had some amazing shit in it, but it's important to note all the problematic shit that went down.

Hmmm. She’s pretty energetic, so I think she’d pace around. In general, she’d probably always (or most of the time) be tapping a foot or finger just to keep moving, even the smallest bit. But if she gets nervous she’d pace back and forth. Most likely, if she’s really nervous, she’d also end up asking multiple times, to whoever’s around, questions like “Do you think we got everything ready?” “What if—” etc.
BUT, at the same time, Yuffie’s pretty confident, so I don’t think she’d get visibly nervous very often.

Her usual smile is a huge, confident grin. Take one look at her and you’ll think she knows what’s up. And she usually does. Probably.

Her hands are probably small but with long fingers? (Obviously not like, unnaturally long, but yeah.) The skin on her palms is pretty tough from her shuriken. (She wears gloves sometimes.. but.. still.)

Oh geez asdfkjal; she’s so young so it’s hard to think about that LOL but I guess she’d end up finding a few strands of gray in her hair and shrug it off— and gradually, there’d be more and more. I’m not sure exactly what different ways there is for hair to gray omg. That’s the normal way isn’t it ?? And I think she’d either cut her hair extra short or a bit longer and tie it up, at that point.

She’s pretty playful, I think?? She’d probably throw a friendly slap on the back or something |D; And she’s pretty guarded/cautious, so any little thing she does to put trust in someone would be a sign of affection from her, I think.
