Cisco Prime Infrastructure 3.3 to 3.5 Upgrade
Cisco Prime Infrastructure 3.3 to 3.5 Upgrade
I have been using Prime Infrastructure (PI) 3.3 for a while now. Overall, it works pretty well. Over time, I have found a handful of miner defects and have had to call Cisco technical support (TAC) for assistance. There have been a good number of calls to TAC that resulted in me being told that it’s a bug and it will be fixed in PI 3.5.
Last summer when I was at Cisco Live in Orlando, I…

Intermec CK71 scan guns constantly drop connection
Intermec CK71 scan guns constantly drop connection
I have multiple warehouses that I support use Honeywell’s Intermec CK71 scanners. The warehouse associates use these scanners to interface with the warehouse management system (WMS). The system tells the associate where to go and pick what item and place it at a specific dock door for shipping. Back and forth, all day these associates rely on the CK71 to tell them their next item to pick.

Cisco WS-C2960L-8PS-LL not providing enough power to Cisco AIR-AP2802E-B-K9
I recently deployed a new WS-C2960L-8PS-LL and found that it would only provide 15.4w of power to the AIR-AP2802E-B-K9 access points connected to it. I found this to be odd because I have the same model switch at my desk and I have had many 2800 access points connected to it at full power (26.1w).
After a few minutes, I noticed that the software on the switch was not the standard version that we…

DB9-RJ45 (NEW)
Cisco Blue RJ45 to DB9 Rollover Console Cables (or management cable) are null modem cables that allow users the ability to communicate and configure a networking device. These particular null modem cables are "rolled over" meaning that on connector A pin 1 connects to pin 8 on connector B, pin 2 to pin 7 respectively and so on. The wiring is exactly opposite on one connector as it is on the other. This wiring allows users to configure various network devices by attaching the DB9 female portion of the cord to the serial port on your computer, and the RJ45 plug into the device (router, firewall, switch etc.). Why make the switch? This type of one piece cable replaces older "kits" that contained multiple cables and adapters. This is a fit for Cisco part numbers: CAB-CONSOLE, 72-3383-01, CAB-1700-CON=, CAB-1600-CAN=, ACS-2600ASYN=, CAB-ME-CON=, AIR-CONCAB1200=, CAB-CONSOLE-RJ45 Quick Specs:
