“Irishman Gives Shillalah To A Scot on St. Patrick's Day,” Border Cities Star. March 17, 1930. Page 3. --- R. M. E. BRIAN, Windsor city engineer, today presented Magistrate D. M. Brodie with a genuine Irish shillalah, which Mr. Brian has been treasuring for years, but decided to present to His Worship, who has several times expressed the desire to own one of the Gaelic "convincers." The ceremony took place in Magistrate Brodie's office. He is seen on the left wearing a suit of greenish tinge, while Mr. Brian on the right is decorated with several sprays of shamrock as well as a bright green tie.
