«Hey, everyone. This is Drift, your acting second-in-command for the next two weeks.»
«Among other SIC duties, this puts me in charge of the daily shipwide memos, so this is the first of them!»
«So, first off, a few basic things. While Magnus is off-ship, I'll be taking over all of his regular duties. That includes reviewing all reports made by the crew. So, direct reports to my comm rather than to Magnus's until he's back. Unlike Magnus, I'm perfectly happy to receive the reports as spoken over comm or in person, rather than in the format of paperwork. As long as you cover all the same subject matter that would have been in a written report.»
«I'll also be holding office hours for anybody who wishes to discuss anything with an officer in a safe, spiritually wholesome, and non-judgmental environment. I don't have my own office yet, so, since they're currently too damaged to permit training, I'll be holding office hours in Training Rooms 113 and 114.»
«On another note, I'm setting up training schedules to improve the crew's general combat skills. Some of you I'll be contacting individually to set up personal training, and eventually everyone will be getting put on a training schedule; but anyone who has a particular interest in training should contact me directly to get a more personalized program set up.»
Private @Windblade: «Be sure to contact me about setting up a sword training regimen, alright?»
Private @Atomizer: «Magnus knows about the vent where you stow your crossbows. He specifically asked me to check there daily to make sure you don't have any. You'd be doing yourself a service and me a favor if you found somewhere new in the ship to hide your crossbows, so I don't have to go down there and check the vent every day.»
Private @Rodimus: «Magnus said you tend to fall asleep in the hall? Since when? Anyway, I'm supposed to prevent that, so I guess I'll just have to sleep with you every night to make sure you don't end up in the hall. You know, just to be safe. Magnus also said I'm supposed to proofread all your writing, but I don't think you, he, or I would be happy with the end result if I did that, so let's not and say we did. Also--we need to talk about Pavonine. Let me know when you're available for that.»
