Jennifer's tricep rested on the back of the couch as her fingers absentmindedly grazed the back of Jake's scalp. Her other hand was occupied with her smartphone. Her thumb swiped and poked at the screen as she played Dots. She sat with one leg tucked under her butt and the other bent in the air.It was really peaceful. The two of them together, side by side, even though they were focused on their own things.
At last, Jenna put her phone face down on the cushion beside her and let out a deep sigh. She turned to Jake, her eyes scanning over his form. She withdrew her hand and tucked it in her lap with her other one. A grunt escaped her as she untucked her leg and straightened both of them. Her toes pointed. Her arms went out in front of her, hands pulling them away from her shoulders. She yawned.
"I'm gonna get some wine. Want any?" The blonde had to say she was surprised that he didn't have any whiskey nearby. It seemed to be the only thing he drank. It certainly wasn't healthy. Yet he seemed to be doing okay despite it all. Then again, she also knew it was only a matter of time before she would have to bring it up and dive into a serious conversation. Jennifer stood up and left the room, traveling the short distance to the kitchen to fix their cups.
Lord knew they both would need it for what she was about to do. It was nerve wracking enough that she downed one glass before gathering herself to go back into the living room.
"Jake..." Jenna sighed once again, handing him his whiskey. She sat down. "We need to talk. It's--It's about--... It's important."
