— Enjoy The Pettiness

The hour before Lush’s door would officially open and the club would be flooded with the crowd of social butterflies, whose faces after so many nights would usually ring a bell, was Jiyong’s favourite time. Not even the boisterous party itself but the quiet moments prior to it. Only then he got to talk with his co-workers, since later on all of them was busy with their assigned duties, what didn’t change the fact that he would walk up to them then as well.
After checking the mixing board, each button and key, he carefully looked around the DJ booth to make sure that everything was on its right place and nothing was faulty. It was plain routine. Playing differently pitched melodies for the affirmation that the speakers wouldn’t pull a sudden prank and break down midway through the night, he would be always reminded by a particular time a year or so ago when an unforeseen malfunction drew the uncountable pairs of eyes towards him.
Humming a tune stuck in his head, he prepared his station before rushing downstairs to the rest. Jiyong almost immediately gazed at the bar, what might’ve come off as a habit of his due to how often he frequented other clubs. Flashing a beaming grin at Jimin, he strutted straight to the counter and leaned against it. “Have you lost count in those bottles already?” Asking in jest, he peeked curiously and reached for a glass. Holding it up to the light, he squinted as though to discern the littlest flaw. “Look how messy that one is.” Pointing at the fingerprints he himself left, Jiyong teased the other. “It has to shine like a diamond, noona.” Turning to her with furrowed eyebrows, he continued with playfulness in his voice.
