So Arya ditched her chicks about two days ago and started laying eggs again.

But they are doing fine! They are now with the older chicks and are warming up to human contact.

do you color the chick's heads?

Yes, I used sugar-based food coloring to tell them apart. I was too scared to use bands at first because I thought I would hurt them.

Even though they pecked at the marks a few times they didn’t harm each other and seemed to lose interest pretty soon.

It’s definitely not the best way to tell them apart because some colors faded pretty quickly or were hard to tell apart. But for the first two weeks it was at least an option.
