Charley holds hands. He usually doesn’t like people grabbing or touching his feet. For well over ten years, his friend at the tailor-cleaner shop has tried touching his paws, without much success because he has always resisted. Recently, he has allowed her to touch his paws for very brief periods of time — usually he would pull his paw away. But today, he finally allowed her to touch his paw without pulling his paw away and he let her touch his paw for as long as she wanted without moving.
The shop will be closing this location later this month on March 22 and will be moving to a new location nearby and reopening on or around April 1. Charley will miss coming to this shop — he has been coming here since 2008. But he looks forward to visiting at the new location when it opens. Even though it is likely a coincidence, it is still a nice way to begin saying goodbye to his favorite shop and end on a positive note. For Charley to allows this is a special sign of how much he appreciates his longtime friend Joong. Upper West Side, Manhattan, NYC
