on the topic of "Kadic Bombshell" how do you feel about the episode?

This ended up kinda long, sorryyy.

Part of what I love about the series is the gang’s friendship. There’s a unique dynamic between each of the characters in their individual relationships and they’re a weird but good group of friends and they work really well together.

The thing that struck me most about this episode was how quickly everyone turned on Odd once he started dating Bringa. Ulrich and Jeremie said some kinda nasty things behind his back just out of jealousy. And then when they realised “oh wait, we’re saying some nasty stuff, this is bad” they had an intervention and told Odd to break up with her for the sake of the mission.

Bringa was not a good person and I’m sure Odd probably would’ve recognised that anyway and broken it off eventually. But he said it himself, the gang telling him to break up with her because they can’t handle being jealous is so selfish. She was only going to be there for 4 days and like Aelita said, “his romances only last for like 2 days lol” but I just don’t feel like that was the right reason to ask him to break up with her. He was really happy being with her for that short time and…4 days. Just wait it out, you guys??

Odd bringing Bringa to the lab - ok intentions (”my friends are really special and I want you to understand why”), reeeally bad idea. I’m pretty bothered that he’d ever bring a stranger into the lab on purpose, blindfolded or not. Actually I don’t really agree with it as a writing decision :/ I think it’s doing his character a disservice welcome to season 4!!. I can understand the group’s anger about that incident on its own. He broke the rules so kicking him out was fair - but they did try and recruit William because the fight was getting harder, which just made it more hard because now there’s XANA-William to fight as well, so kicking a member out now seems brash and very detrimental. Heat of the moment, I guess.

Kadic Bombshell, Zero Gravity Zone and The Chips are Down are all examples of just how easily the group will turn on someone for having priorities other than the fight against XANA. And it’s kinda scary how despite all they’ve been through together, they’re still so harsh on each other, and pretty damn quick to kick a member out without giving them a second chance (until there’s an emergency and they’re needed again). And episodes like this make me wonder how long their friendship will last once the fight is over, which is depressing. I know they’re kids and they’re not rational all the time, but it really gets to me when they’re so hard on each other for idk, having a life outside of Lyoko. They’re also quick to forgive most of the time but eghhh

tl;dr I’m sad they were so harsh on Odd for the wrong reasons (to begin with); I don’t like the writing decision of Odd bringing a stranger into the lab; damn these kids are so hard on each other sometimes

Also the Romeo comparison was weird and I didn’t really understand it.

So overall not one of the more enjoyable episodes. But Odd saving Aelita at the end and the bits with Sissi were good.

I agree. They turn their backs so quickly to almost everyone except to Jeremie… Jeremie also did things that were wrong (like the rttps that he did on ep 38, he never said any explanation and no one questioned it, but Ulrich did one rttp and he got kicked out the next day), but of course, Jeremy is the leader of the gang and he never got the harsh things (only from Yumi, from time to time, but even Yumi never did something as terrible as what they did to Odd or Ulrich)

Well he did get unofficially rejected in the episode Franz Hopper, but I guess only because they had a replacement for him, essentially. Blaming him for a serious problem he didn’t know about (well it was fake, but).

Overall he probably made the most mistakes out of all of them mainly because he was the one working the Supercomputer and trying to come up with new ways to benefit the group, not all of which turned out well (Marabounta, Temptation), so he had the most opportunities to screw up. They could fight when Jeremie got too controlling or neglectful of their friendship as well, but generally the others just (begrudgingly) went along with whatever plan he had because he’s irreplaceable. Like Crash Course? They didn’t have to cancel their plans and come to Jeremie’s lesson just because he told them to, but they did anyway because he guilted them into it.

There were some bad things said about him while he wasn’t around, but I don’t think they were as bad as how Ulrich in particular and Odd were treated sometimes.

My head feels funny and idk if what I said makes sense but like, they got annoyed at the things he did sometimes, but they couldn’t kick him out because he’s a vital member of the group. They might be able to lose one fighter, but not the guy who oversees everything.
