I should honestly draw Melli with my headcannons about him, since I will make an OC to ship with him soon (sidenote - I do have multiple ships for one character, no, none are cheating if you're worried about that Alternative timelines and AUs exist you buffoon), so here they come:
He gets cold easily so he has a haori to cover himself with, neatly stored where he's staying.
He did all the embroidery himself and always carries sawing supplies just in case he needs to fix some tear or something.
He's not squeemish around dirt and does wash Lord Electrode and Voltorbs (got electrocuted a couple times, but not too bad).
He has lighting scars on his back from a very bad accident (I think I saw someone else headcannoning this too, maybe @//warden-melli , but honestly could be anyone, I can't remember).
He's autistic with special interest in plants and would later make an encyclopedia of the plants of Hisui.
He was often visited by Cresselia as he was growing up, but can't remember these visits, because they happened when he was sleeping. The later on appearance of Cresselia at his station was her feeling like he is ready to receive her blessings - one of her feathers. Also because of that he never suffered from nightmares!
He much prefers savoury food, but doesn't mind occasional sweets.
This is from @//warden-melli , but he fakes his mean-girl persona, because he doesn't yet know how to be confident in himself, which he does eventually learn.
His Golbat ain't evolved into Crobat, because it genuinely doesn't want to evolve.
He's kinda strong, but his bread and butter is running.
Ever since hearing about the big opera's in Galar, he imagines what it would be like to perform there.
