Random BattleTech Thought: Specifically, Clan Spaniel
So, got into a discussion on a certain forumboard involving Clan Spaniel, and now I'm thinking about them again.
-How come no one has updated their page on Sarna.net with info from the Sourcebook?
-So, something I wonder about, given the Clanner approach to sex, uh, how is it acceptable to show it to children in the FS, RoS, and (with some alterations so the Green Monkeys represent the RoFs instead of the CC), the CC?
-Am I the only one who dreams of getting a second Clan Spaniel Sourcebook? I know it is unlikely to ever happen, but still.
-I imagine Clan Rock Swine are depicted as being, basically a cross between Dick Dastardly (IE, they lose all the time BECAUSE they keep cheating) and Smoke Jaguar if they were Wardens, IE they treat their civilians like shit, which is another reason they lose all the time.
-Sidenote, I would imagine that they've got at least one other invented Clan on the show whom the Spaniels periodically Trial against, but actually get along with, to show that even thought the Clans are in competition, they aren't enemies. Also, Factor Adora has to be trading with someone.
-Cannot help but notice that the main cast includes positive representation for every civilian caste, for sohlama, for Elementals, and even sorta-kinda for the Watch, but no ASF pilots.
-Given that the Sourcebook is in the format of someone arguing for reviving the show for the ilClan era, I cannot help but wonder how that would work and what that would be like.

More Battletech furries, I say!
I have a headcanon that there's a more adult oriented version of The Adventures of Clan Spaniel:
The Adventures of Clan Spaniel
This more adult version features genetically engineered actors/actresses who are made to look like their Clan's totem animal, and deals more directly with themes relevant to the Clan warrior caste. Clanner Game of Thrones, in a sense.
Random Battletech Thought+poll
I have been into BT lore for about four months, and *The Adventures of Clan Spaniel* was already one of my favorite things, and now that I have the Sourcebook, it is presently my single favorite BT thing.
It's been four days since the Sourcebook came out and the tags "Adventures of Clan Spaniel" and "Clan Spaniel" are still really quite sparse (the former is mostly just dog people talking about their dogs and stuff, which, y'know nothign wrong with that, but...) am wondering if my being incredibly enthused about this is normal or not. So. POLL TIME!
Is it weird that Clan Spaniel is my favorite part of BT lore?
Yes, it is weird.
No, it makes perfect sense
i just want to see the results
The Clan Spaniel Sourcebook
The Clan Spaniel Sourcebook is fucking amazing they did not need to put this much effort into a 2 dollar april fool's goof but they did. I love it so much I would buy a physical version. I'm gonna paint up a Clan Spaniel Mech now
