last night with my work team for awhile...

lots of mixed emotions, fun moments, and sad goodbyes. 

I am going to dearly miss my days spent in the breakroom watching fail videos, late nights working with my visuals team, and outrages holidays based around goofy facial hair. But more than anything? I will miss knowing I can go to work, and always leave feeling better than i did going in - no matter what. I love my co-workers so much. I love my job so much. It's going to be hard without having my smurf family as close as usual these next few months, but I know this time away will make me appreciate my store and all the people in it that much more. It's the little things like a laugh in back of house, or a smile on the floor that lets me know that no matter how long I am gone, I will always be welcomed back with open arms and big, fun smiles.

I had a small little clap out from all my visual boys tonight as we left, and i thankfully didn't cry. Danny was there for me to burrow into as it was done, and there were plenty of hugs to go around and make me feel better. I've been doing everything in my power to avoid a clap out, but a little, fun one like that? That i could handle. That wasn't a "goodbye", that was a "see you later"...exactly what i needed from the team i spend most of my time with. 

As i begin my next big adventure this summer, I'll spend plenty of time reflecting on the lessons learned, the love shared, and friendship gained through my work at the fruit stand. I know that this will make me cherish my relationships and the skills I've gained even more as I continue down my career path. Although I can't wait to go back, this is a good little test run for that real goodbye that will happen sometime in my future. It might not be for awhile, but it's still nice to know that the relationships I've made through work aren't defined by our store. They carry onward and outward regardless of where life takes all of us. And for that I am forever grateful.

Betsey Johnson closed her show with the most over-the-top bow (cartwheel and splits!) and final clap-out I have seen all week - as expected of the eccentric designer. Her energy is great. The T&A balloons are even better.
