90′s Alternative and music groups like Tool, Seether, and the Deftones are my fav things to listen to. And classical music like Beethoven and Mozart ^^
Tbh, I don’t mind listening to most music unless it’s country, religious, or sappy/angsty romantic stuff >.>
Rainstorms: What helps you fall asleep?
background noise/white noise and melatonin <.<
Lace: Your favorite things to wear?
At home I wear pj bottoms and a t-shirt (during cold months usually a hoodie or sweatshirt over my t-shirt and extra socks cause I get cold easy). When I’m out and about, I like comfy yet nice clothes. Usually jeans paired with a nice shirt and shoe-boots or low-top boots.
This is going to be long, so I’ll put it under a read more. Thanks for the ask! <3
5 - Who is the first person in your contacts?
The first actual number is my ICE, but if we’re going alphabetically, it’s AAA. It’s sort of like supplementary car insurance/club that offers discounts and free towing or gas in emergencies. idk if it’s a thing anywhere else.
10 - How many boyfriends/girlfriends did you have?
Erm...5 in total. I’m not huge on being in a relationship, but if I do they last a while. Around a year or longer for all of them except one and they were nice and kind and it scared the fuck out of me. I dated them for two months. They were giving out the “I’m going to tell you I love you” signs and I noped out of there like I was on fire. I’ll regret that for a very long time. They were genuinely a good person.
15 - When was the last time you cried? Why?
The last week has just been random crying (from a few tears to almost an hour of gasping and sobbing) because ~america~
20 - Who was the last person who called you?
It was my cousin’s boyfriend asking me to unlock the front door.
25 - Who do you spend crazy moments with?
I don’t have crazy moments. If I do, and I just don’t realize it, they’re with @kibbles-n-brits and/or @king-nerdlord
30 - Who is the last person in your contacts?
It’s @xertini
35 - How’s your heart?
Oh, you know, betrayed by my country, shunned by a majority of my family, and in a ridiculous crush with someone I’ll almost certainly, 100% never meet. My heart’s pretty swell.
40 - Did you try to change for a person?
I think, in small ways, we change for every person we meet. Or maybe every person we meet affects us in a way that changes who we thought ourselves to be. But in the way I think the question is asking, yes. I have. It didn’t work out. Basically from 6-19 I tried to change my entire personality, way of talking, ideas, down to the thought process to fit who I was speaking too. I didn’t have a set personality until I entered my 20s.
45 - Describe your dream date.
Okay, so, here we go. We go out and eat pizza for lunch, watch a movie, wander around a small tourist trap or something, get really tired and head back to someone’s place and watch some cartoon on Netflix (or The Lord of the Rings movies, I’m not picky) while eating chinese takeout for dinner. There’s snuggling. They don’t complain about how cold I am. We nap. I (or they) go home in the morning rumpled and still sleepy but there’s a text waiting for when I am (or they are) home safe expressing how nice our time together was. Sleep comes again, but with sweeter dreams.
50 - Do you regret your past?
I regret every action, every reaction (or lack of, more like). I regret every moment where I had a chance to be someone or establish myself as my own self and instead let someone else decide who I was. However, all these regrets and past things helped make me who I am at this moment. While I may regret every moment from toddlerhood until now, they are still my moments and I wouldn’t change them. I’ve learned so much from my regrets, and I use that to help other people and my current self.
55 - Do people praise you for your looks?
They do now, and honestly it feels outright surreal. No one I’ve ever had a relationship with has ever commented on them positively. My mom’s hardcore in the camp of “it doesn’t matter what you look like, only how you behave/present yourself” with some other stuff about being smart is more important than being pretty. I, however, have always called myself adorable/cute/gorgeous. I always assume the “fake it until you make it” line of thought. Eventually I’ll make it lmao.
60 - Did you slap anyone whose name starts with an “R”?
This is an incredibly specific question. No, I don’t think I have. I kind of try not to slap people in general. I think maybe I’ve punched Ryan’s arm a few times? Like a bro thing kind of punch, not like fighting my best friend.
65 - Do you have issues with somebody in your school?
I don’t go to school. Well, I do, but it’s online and I don’t interact with people. So I guess my issue is with me? I haven’t logged in at all this month. I’m a terrible student. *is currently on tumblr and playing a video game*
70 - Have you ever experienced being hysterical?
Yeah. It’s scary. Well, at least to me it is.
Unless we’re talking funny hysterical. Because hell yeah I am.
75 - Have you ever ridden a boat?
My first experience with a boat was when I learned how to canoe at 6. Didn’t like it. My second experience was a ferry from Italy to Greece at 16. Better, but still not a huge fan.
80 - How can you prove your love to someone?
I don’t think you can, honestly. You can be kind, loving, supportive, and every other word that describes the perfect in love individual and still your partner(s) can doubt you. You just gotta keep doing the things you’re doing until they begin to believe you. Proving you love someone is impossible, imo, but believing in someone loving you is the actual thing you gotta do.
85 - Did you ever badmouth someone?
I can. And I can do it well. However, I don’t generally like to. It takes a lot of energy and I’d really rather read or nap or something else. I’ve developed a pretty high tolerance for shit over the years (or maybe I’m secretly still a doormat idk) but once my line is hit I don’t usually hold back. That said, I’ll listen to someone badmouth, because...well, I’m incredibly inquisitive (nosy). Also, I mean, like, sitting in a public place and people judging watching is one of my favorite things to do with my best friends.
90 - Do you think all the pain is worth it?
Well, I mean...this kind of answer is one of those ones where this answer can absolutely only apply to me and my own pain. For me, yes. My pain is worth it. My pain helped (outright controlled, I mean) who I’ve become. I reflect on my pain constantly. I use it to help me understand other people and their pain. My personal issues and how I’ve adapted to them are who I am.
95 - How do you look right now?
idk. pretty frumpy. hello kitty sweatpants, and a shirt from when I was much larger. I don’t remember if I brushed my hair today, actually. my socks don’t match, but my feet were cold this morning so I just grabbed random socks from my “where the fuck is the other one” pile.
100 - What is your sexual orientation?
It’s been in flux lately. feeling more idk “bisexual but still with a low sex drive?” than I’ve felt in like years. It feels very strange. I’ve been pretty steady on the asexuality scale for a while now so I figured I was done with all this. *shrug* que sera sera
105 - What is your OTP?
shit. fuck. uhm. Yuri and Viktor. McCree and my OC (it’s literally me. just fuck me up, cowboy. this is actually more serious than I want it to be.) Xena and Gabrielle. Wash and Zoe. but also, in the interest of being honest, most if not all my OTPs are “they’re best friends and they love each other and sometimes they kiss and do cute things”. I’m not really a “they have kids or fuck so hard one of them dies and everyone is sad” kind of shippers. If you are though, keep doing what you do. I still read the fanfic and reblog the art. <3
There are birds that sing in front of my window. If I wasn’t a day sleeper I’d feel very inspired to carpe the diem and whatnot. But they should find a different tree.
20:What was your last thought before you went to bed last night?
I’m going to miss the damn chat rooms with 707. Goddammit. I....I might be a little too into Mystic Messenger lol
30:Would it be hard seeing someone else kiss the last person you kissed?
Not really. I mean, I’d probably not even recognize the person tbh. Or if I did it would be “oh it’s them. that was an ok night. i liked the bartender.” and then I’d do everything possible to avoid actually bumping into them because while small talk is terrible, small talk was someone who is barely an acquaintance is even worse.
40:Have you ever regretted kissing someone?
Let me tell you a story. It starts with my first kiss. I was at Wal*Mart with a high school friend and my first boyfriend. The friend and I were looking at books and gossiping, while the next aisle over was the beginning of the shoe section, where my now-ex was trying on shoes. Friend and I were talking about relationships. She was talking about having subpar sex with her ex and I guess he figured out that we’d never even kissed? He took it upon himself to lead me to the women’s sock aisle under the ruse of something cool to see (i’m still weak to colorful socks) and basically licked my face. With his whole mouth.
I can’t possibly describe to you this sensation. Awful isn’t a good descriptor either. Repulsive? Not meaty enough. Needless to say that I basically tried to avoid kissing him whenever possible.
UNTIL MARCHING SEASON (fast forwarding through some drama, we’d broken up once, but got back together because he was all “I love you so much I’ll kill myself unless you date me” and I was a very weak person and fell for that manipulation)
We were both in band. For some fuck all reason, Flutes (me) and Tubas (him) were put together on a bus. So, any away game (almost all at least an hour long bus ride both ways) I was left with no escape. No reason not to kiss this person I’m dating. And he’d figured out just what entailed french kissing. We broke up the final time soon after.
So, yeah, I’ve regretted kissing someone. And I still have his number blocked.
50:Why aren’t you pursuing the person you like?
I haven’t actually really decided if I like them. And also really what’s the point of doing so? Even if I enjoy their company of a friendly or romantic level I highly doubt I would on a sexual one. It’s just a complex I have about me and relationships. And also we live many states apart. So, there’s that too.
60:Have you ever played Spin the Bottle?
Ok, so, same high school friend, 1 year later. We’re at a friend’s house, hanging out with their little sister, whose about a year or two younger than us. It’s her birthday. She has her friends over for a sleepover and they’re all asking us questions about boys and life and surviving high school because apparently we live in a knockoff episode of Gilmore Girls. My friend, my very irresponsible friend, decides that we’re going to play Spin the Bottle. Now, I’ve never played any other time in my life since or before, so I don’t know the rules, but I don’t think you do a dare when the bottle points at you. Right? Anyways, yeah, we did dares. It got.....uh.....intense.
There was streaking. I licked a cookie off a girl’s tongue. Someone drank an entire bottle of soy sauce. I, later in the week, got very scared by two of the most country rednecks I’ve ever known because their little sister decided that she and I have a connection and we should date.
Spin the Bottle is a dangerous game. Don’t play it.
70:Are you a monogamous person or do you believe in open-ended relationships?
I believe in relationships where everyone involved talks openly about what kind of relationship they want it to be. I know that I’m not inclined to fulfill every need that someone I’m dating has, and that the needs they have are just as important as the needs I have, so if an open ended relationship is something they want to discuss then we’ll discuss. If someone is okay with being with just me, knowing that I may never desire them in a way that they might desire me, then that’s good too. I, personally, don’t have the patience or desire to find a second person to date, so I’d almost certainly stay monogamous even if our relationship is open-ended. It’s just a lot of extra work to put in when I already have someone to kiss and snuggle, ya’know? All that said, I don’t really think about this particular subject a lot. I’d rather just go with the flow of the relationship.
80:Would you get involved with someone if they had a child already?
What does having a child have to do with the feelings I have for that person? I mean, of course I’d want them to talk to their kid and make sure that they’re comfortable with their parent being in a relationship too. I’m 0% about making a child feel uncomfortable in their own home or with their own parents. But other than that, I don’t care if they have children. I like kids, so they’re always cool in my book.
90:Have you ever gotten back in touch with an old flame after a time of more than 3 months of no communication?
Nope. I learned from the first boyfriend. Once a relationship is done, it’s done. I don’t talk to exes afterwards. (ok, i did, but it was because we were engaged and we had to return stuff to each other. It was certainly not a “rekindle this romance” situation.)
100:Anybody on Tumblr that you’d go on a date with?
Uhm...maybe? I’m really bad at picking out if it’s a date or just hanging out with someone I enjoy spending time with.
clapandtransmute replied to your post “[[MOR] call me greedy, but one of the main reasons why i am...”
That's a good way to look at it though, and there's actually a TedTalk that says it better than I could but in a relationship there are always compromises that both parties are constantly making and certain needs that aren't always being met. It's not practical or possible to find one person who is able to be everything you want so that's one thing that makes polyamoury so great
that’s exactly it. i’ve seen (and had) so many relationships crumble because people expect their partners to be able to give them every thing they want and need, and that’s just not realistic. and then it breeds resentment and bad feelings, and it’s just. idk. i know polyamory isn’t easy, but it feels like it would be right for me.
5:Who was your favorite teacher in high school and why?I only had one teacher for high school. So they are by default my favourite. Lol.
10:Do you like the way that you grew up?Uhhm, I would have to say I really didn’t. But it shaped me into who I am, so I guess it’s okay-ish.
15:Things about someone that you find attractive?Smile, eyes, sense of humour.
20:What was the last thing you watched on tv?It was... This weird fish show that was on at my aunt’s..
25:Do you wear glasses? If so, how long have you been wearing glasses?I do! I’ve worn glasses for about a year now.
30:How’s the weather right now? It’s cloudy, and rainy.
35:Have you ever been admitted to a hospital? Why?I have not, thankfully.
40:What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?“What time is it..?”
45:Do you come from a family “of money?”Nope. Lol.
50:5 random facts about yourself:1. I colour my hair2. The longest I’ve ever stayed up was almost 80 hours.3. I easily get obsessed with songs, and listen to them for hours...4. I do the same thing with games.5. I used to be scared of basically everything.
3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books?
I use scraps of paper or post it notes. Once I used an unopened taco bell sauce packet but that was an emergency bookmarking occasion.
31: what is your opinion of socks? do you like wearing weird socks? do you sleep with socks? do you confine yourself to white sock hell? really, just talk about socks.
I. Love. Socks. I love them so much. I’m wearing some orange and purple cheetah print ones now. I own about 40 different pairs, all but 6 pairs are bright colors or fun patterns. Those other 6 are some thick black ones I wear with my chef uniform. Oh! I also love fuzzy socks! I have some white ones, some gray ones, and some that are pink with green and purple stripes. Sometimes I wear them mismatched, but mostly I wear them proper like. I have some that are brightly colored on the toes and ankle part and black in the middle. I have shirts that coordinate to each of those pairs. I’ll shut up about my socks now >~<
34: tell us about the stuffed animal you kept as a kid. what is it called? what does it look like? do you still keep it?
I still have my childhood stuffed toy. His name is Mr. Bear-Bear. And he’s a black bear with a brown snout, and he’s missing his eye and his nose. He’s in my closet with stuff from my freshman dorm room. I still haven’t unpacked that. I just put the whole bag in my closet when I left my first dorm. Oops.
75: tell us about your pets!
Oh lawd here we go. As you most likely already know, I love my pets. And I talk about them alot. They even have their own tags on my about page! I’m gonna talk about them a lot.
There’s Teazel, a chihuahua that loves naps, burrowing, and pets. His favorite song is “Painting Teazel” where someone sings to him and pet his spots with a paintbrush. His favorite movie is Star Wars episode 3. I have no idea why, but I watched all 6 the other weekend and this jerk sat right in front of the screen during that one and watched the whole thing. He also loses his shit for cooked carrots and these sweet potato treats from Alton Brown. He learned to open tupperware for those. It’s amazing. He also is a Theoretical physics professor with his own facebook page and twitter. He loves wearing sweaters too. The weirdest thing about him is that he tucks his back legs under him and runs down stairs on his front legs.
Second is Parzival, a teacup chihuahua. Commonly called Par-Par. I also call him baby. If by any chance you hear me whispering “Baby no hold on” while chatting, Par-Par wants on my lap and he’s punching my leg. His favorite toy is a sheep named “cheep cheep” that he got attached to when he was a few weeks old. He sleeps with it, takes it to whatever room he wants to be in, humps it, waits at the washer/dryer on toy cleaning day and he gets really put out if he’s taken on a car ride without it. If you ask “where’s cheep cheep?” he’ll run to get it and show it to you. don’t touch it. it’s hella gross. He’s also an emotional support animal. Registered and everything. The weirdest thing about him is his obsession with sheep. Seriously. Every toy he has is sheep themed. I take him to petsmart or petco and he always goes for a sheep. It’s insane.
Last of my own pets is Tybalt Leftpaw, a Bombay. I found him in my front yard about a year ago when some stray dogs attacked him. I chased them off and took him to the vet where I found out that he had no feeling in his back right leg. The vet had no idea if this was from the attack or a birth defect at the time, and offered to have him put to sleep. Being a feral kitten that was clearly abandoned by his mother, the vet didn’t think he’d last. I’m stubborn as hell and incapable of just letting a stray animal stay out alone so I took him in. Socializing wasn’t that hard, actually, considering he was feral and all. I think maybe he caught on pretty early that I wasn’t about to let him die, so he accepted me. He took a bit longer with my mom but we followed this guide (actually several) online about socializing feral kittens. He loves her now, and sits with her when she’s sewing. He’s still terrible with strangers, and other cats besides my mom’s cat. He gets on with dogs great, and at night he sleeps under my blanket with his head tucked under mine. He loves brushes, especially since he can’t scratch any itchy spots along his entire right side. When he was a kitten I rigged him a little brace with wheels so he could still do cat things like play hunter and run around, but he couldn’t jump for the longest time and his tail didn’t move. Every week we do stretching exercises with his leg, tail swishing (which he can do now!) and jumping things. He’s actually really good at jumping now, but he can’t do the graceful leap thing other cats do. It’s more like he flings his body at the place he wants to go and then uses upper body strength to accomplish the rest. It may eventually come to him having his unresponsive leg removed, but I hope not. We’ll see with his next vet visit. The weirdest thing about Tybalt is that he uses a human toilet to pee. He just climbed on the toilet one day and went at it, and has been doing it ever since.
80: what color are your bedroom walls? did you choose that color? if so, why?
One of my walls is a solid dark lilac color, two are a pale lilac with the dark color sponged over it for texture, and one is the dark lilac with the pale lilac sponged over it. I chose those colors because I wanted something relaxing but still interesting, and I liked accent walls. I actually really want to repaint my room a soft cotton candy pink with white and cocoa accents.
I'm basically Ted Mosby to Becca and Hal's Lily and Marshall and I'm 100% down for that, you know I'll just never play you for an end of my character development like Ted. :P
