First of all, Silena is the Bachelorette. And she's ending up with Clarisse. Of COURSE

Nico was pulled in as a backup and he is totally the show plant, meant to be there to stir up conflict and whatever storyline the producers wanted to highlight. They give him character to play and hes supposed to be the "dark mysterious fiery Italian lover"

Jason actually does want to find true love and he's trying to win the heart of Silena and trying to be the perfect boyfriend. But he just ends up being like Janet Varney's character in Burning love where he eventually realizes his feelings for Nico.
