Clarice has spent... a long time traveling. She kept in touch with her family of course, and sent several postcards to Amanda, all while refusing to speak to any of her friends from back home.

From her prior trip, Clarice had already gained some insight into Selvadoradian culture, so she knew where to look for insider information on local sights and whatnot. (whatnot = foooood!)

Clarice’s mom had insisted on her not going alone, and although she’d originally been annoyed by this, she’d happily accepted her sister’s offer to tag along.

Oh, and then there was the ever-growing collection of postcards Clarice was sending their way from her travels.

Clarice: on that note, I found an article online about summer jobs in Selvadorada... I need your signature in order to be able to apply though.

Jessie [surprised]: you want to go to Selvadorada?

Clarice: I’ve always wanted to go, mom! This would be the ideal time, during summer, before I have to start adulting. Pretty please?

Clarice: don’t be ridiculous.

Arthur: Clarice, you guys have been best friends even before I met you years ago. Of course you are jealous. And the fact that you can’t admit it to yourself only shows how you really feel about him you know?

Clarice: it kind of became my business ever since she started hanging out with my best friend too much.

Arthur: too much you say? jealous huh?
