Black History Moment: Ms. Clarice Taylor Clarice Taylor - one of the founding members of the Negro Ensemble Company, headquartered in New York's East Village on St. Mark's Place and a co-founder of Harlem's American Negro Theater. was an american actress for over 5 decades performing on stage, film and television🎬📽 Ms. Taylor has an historic filmography list that runs from 1968 - 1998. but she is best known for her recurring role on The Cosby Show as Dr. Heathcliff "Cliff" Huxtable's (Bill Cosby) mother, Anna Huxtable. A few of Ms. Taylor's iconic roles include the following: Harriet (David's grandmother) on Sesame Street (1969) Play Misty for Me as Birdie with Clint Eastwood (1971) Sanford and Son (TV Series) as Cousin Emma (1974) Five on the Black Hand Side as Mrs. Brooks (1973) Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North, in the musical The Wiz (1978) Although Ms. Taylor was never acknowledge as a Lifetime Achiever for her civil rights work and her over all body of work - I am unofficially naming her an iconic women that made ground breaking strides in BLACK HISTORY.
