“You haven’t moved in like an hour,” Clark whispered.

 Bruce exhaled a soft little laugh and turned his face in Clark’s direction.  They had been watching Star Wars, as they had been planning this weekend Star Wars marathon all week.  But when the first movie had ended, they were both too lazy to get up and change the disc.  For nearly an hour, they had lied on the couch, snuggling under an afghan and watching the DVD menu with the sound muted.  Somehow Clark had ended up draped over Bruce’s body, and Bruce seemed to have accepted him as another blanket.

 “That’s still a long time,” Clark replied playfully.  He was nuzzling Bruce slightly as he asked, “Are you dead?”  Bruce laced his fingers through Clark’s as Clark continued nuzzling him.  Bruce’s face was a bit scratchy from skipping his morning shave, but Clark loved the feel of it. 

 Bringing Clark’s hand to rest on his chest over his heart, Bruce asked, “I don’t think I’m dead… but you tell me.”

 “I do feel a pulse, but I should double check to be sure,” Clark replied.  At that, he put his lips on Bruce’s throat and kissed his way up his neck, lingering perhaps a tad longer than was necessary.  “Alive and well,” he added.

 Bruce smiled softly as he caught Clark’s eye and gave him another gentle kiss.  When their lips parted, Clark practically buried his face in Bruce’s shoulder.  Bruce wrapped his arms and legs around Clark even tighter and they both giggled joyfully as Clark pulled the afghan over their heads.  They tangled together like knotted yarn as they kissed again.

 Bruce kissed his way from Clark’s lips over toward his ear and whispered, “I haven’t moved because there’s two hundred odd pounds of alien weighing me down.”

 Clark looked up and raised an eyebrow.  “You’re not complaining, are you?”

 Bruce smiled again and replied, “Not at all.”
