Text Trouble | Tane & Clark
Tane didn’t often make visits to town unless he had something to trade, but today had felt like the proper day for a task he’d been meaning to complete for some time now. Especially with all that had been happening lately, the Te-Tini felt he needed to research some of the other magical creatures on this island. He was extremely familiar with his own kind, and could recognize the energy of pretty much all other kinds of supernaturals, even from a distance by now, but he knew very little about them and what their magic was like... he only knew what it felt like and how his own magic generally responded in kind.
Sophia had told him about this place and how the man who ran it (Clark, if he remembered correctly) had met many of their kind, and other supernaturals on the island. He hoped not only that the man wouldn’t be confused or intimidated by his presence and the strong energy he was told that he projected, but that he would be knowledgeable about some things that Tane was seriously lacking in. As he entered the shop though, he got a text from Sophia. It wasn’t terribly important...just something about one of their upcoming dinners, but if he didn’t answer it now he’d likely forget and then she’d scold him. Standing somewhat awkwardly in front of the doorway, he took a laboriously long time to return her text, and it was almost completely gibberish by the time he was done. Scowling at the modern device as he sent the text off anyway, Tane grunted unappreciatively at it and hastily stowed it away in his pocket again.
When he looked up, he found that he had absolutely no idea where to start looking for the books he wanted. Peeking around one of the massive bookshelves, he spotted a man who he hoped was Clark. “Uh... Do you work here...?” he asked. “I’m looking for some...... books...” he said a bit stiffly, not wanting to reveal to much if this wasn’t the person he was looking for.
