Coming at you from the washeteria once more. Though I have a book chapter (+20 more,) to write, I realized I had clothes that needed washing. While waiting for a drier I remembered a couple of friends being surprised I could sing (see the half-butchered Irish lullaby,) and picked from my old repertoire. We have: 'In de fremde' 'The Daisies' and 'Ideale' . I remember being excited when Mr David Wylie gave me 'In der fremde'. I had heard it performed in a Faculty recital and fell in love with it, almost hugging my music teacher in the process! 'The Daisies' was an excercise in not crooning and drove me crazy at times. Hopefully some justice was done with it today. 'Ideale' was my favorite Tosti piece. I can remember performing that one in General Recital and catching a glimpse of my old teacher in the audience, sitting back and smiling. . As always, apologies for the diction. Though I was classically trained for five or so years, I ultimately graduated with a History degree (and Geology minor.) I did have French in my repertoire but none of sentimentality come to mind. Okay, but... when you’re considering how your character does things-- and you know they just have so much passion in what they do when they do it? So I’ve been talking with friends about how The Fiddler would view other genres of music outside of classical as unworthy to be played-- and yet... and yet... his daughter takes the time to span over so many different genres. It’s something that has caused a bit of stress between Corey and Isaac.

She hopes there does come a time where he actually is with her when she’s playing-- so that there comes a time where she can prove his opinions on her music choices wrong. She would love the chance to show that she can do all the things that he can-- but being able to vary.

What’s that? Melt brains, hypnotize people, and make sonic barriers while playing Sweet Child O’ Mine? Yes, she would love to.

Hydra- Favourite sound?

“Okay so… I think a lot of people would think that I’d answer this with something like a violin or like sounds from my lab– but bear with me here. So… when I was little and my dad wasn’t out with the Society or doing what he did he would sit down with me and we’d listen to music boxes together. If he was on a heist and the situation permitted I’d end up with a new music box for he and I to enjoy together. It seems like such a silly little thing but I treasure the memories with them more than anything– just thinking about the days where he’d sit me on his knee, crank up the box, hold me like I was his little princess and just hum along to the music with me. I still have most of the music boxes stored away. Except for one– I keep one music box in my room still that plays the first movement from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons– Primavera. It makes me think of the relationship my father and I used to have and it’s probably my most treasured possession. … it’s also my favourite sound.”
