TruMath. In presents, Conic Sections of Class 11. In mathematics, a #ConicSection is a curve obtained as the intersection of the surface of a cone with a plane. The three types of conic sections are the Hyperbola, the Parabola, and the Ellipse. In this Education video, we will learn about the Parabola with Equation for Class 11 Mathematics as well as for IIT & JEE.
In mathematics, a parabola is a plane curve which is mirror-symmetrical and is approximately U shaped. The standard form is (x - h)² = 4p (y - k), where the focus is (h, k + p) and the directrix is y = k - p. If the parabola is rotated so that its vertex is (h,k) and its axis of symmetry is parallel to the x-axis, it has an equation of (y - k)² = 4p (x - h), where the focus is (h + p, k) and the directrix is x = (h - p).
