Hello followers!

I’m not sure if anyone here has really been following my journey to become a teacher 🤔 but I finally have my license and have been offered a job as a 4th grade teacher!!

It was suggested that I make an amazon wishlist as I get my first classroom set up since teachers are responsible for purchasing most of their own supplies and classroom furniture. I’m planning on purchasing a good amount myself but I figured I’d share the list here just in case anyone wanted to support my classroom.

You can do it anonymously I think, but if you let me know that you sent something I’d be happy to write a request for you to say thank you!

Before-and-after photos of my classroom this year! When I walked in just over 2 weeks ago, I discovered 2 full classrooms crammed into my room from last year, which was NOT supposed to be my classroom this year. Discovering just how much stuff was in the room - including the fact that none of my things had been moved down the hall like they were supposed to - my principal agreed to let me stay in the same room.

Once I knew I would be staying, it was time to get to work. I had inherited all of the belongings of a teacher who decided to retire in August after 25 years of teaching. I spent hours every day for the first week sorting through the boxes she hadn’t wanted, keeping some things and giving most of it away, before I could finally start putting my room together the way I wanted to. It took a lot of work and many extra pairs of hands (including my parents driving down to spend their anniversary weekend working on my classroom), but it all came together this week. Can't wait to start my second year of teaching in just a few days!

I spent 7 hours at school today working in my classroom and aside from putting up bulletin board paper all I did was create a giant mess.

I guess there is always tomorrow?
