"No! No, I - " Clove sees the stone, about the size of a small loaf of bread in Thresh's hand, and loses it. "Cato!" She screeches. "Cato!"
"Clove!" I hear Cato's answer, but he's too far away, I can tell that much, to do her any good. What was he doing? Trying to get to Foxface or Peeta? Or had he been lying in wait for Thresh and just badly misjudged his location?
#mine.#mygraphic#clatoedit#thgedit#thehungergamesedit#cloveedit#catoedit#thg#the hunger games#cato x clove#clove x cato#clato#cato#clove#cato hadley#clove kentwell#to go on a tags rant: first I love how the colors turned out. i adore the dark turquoise background shades in the Clove Attacks Kat scene#second we do not talk about katniss basically calling him clove's bodyguard in her internal monologue enough#there could be so much material with that and with cato's physical presence/his closeness to Clove#like. her grabbing his bicep or him absently playing with her hair at the interview line/rubbing her shoulders/tracing her collarbone#he guards her and part of guarding is physical touch at least to him (in my shipper brain)#the irony of his having many instances of physical proximity to her but not showing up (film) and then in the book he shows up too late#the one time when him being close was going to make the most difference#he trusted her with the kill and (in my mind) wanted to give her space to “give the audience a good show” because she is talented. worthy#but in doing so and in recognising her skill and wanting to let her have her moment he also failed to guard her and back her up as a partne#his one job according to katniss. lol. I love the judgemental attitude with “what was he Doing instead of protecting his girl”
