off to the STUDIO to throw some CUPS!!!!!!!!

Hi! Why did you decide to close down your ceramic patreon? Is it just that you want to go on to try different types of art things, or did you find you didn't like working with ceramic as much? Also, are you still planning on finishing up any ceramic commissions that aren't done?

yes, i’m spending this month and part of october making sure everyone gets everything i owe them, it’s the main part of closing down. im absolutely not going to simply pocket someone’s money and wander off without delivering what they bought!

but after a couple years, ceramics has become a really stressful drain on me, financially and creatively. i’m not having any fun, and i’m definitely not making any money: more than a third of my patreon intake just covers the studio fee, then another third goes to shipping costs for rewards, and a chunk of the remainder is chewed up on bus money. ultimately i might be getting 50$ a month for something i just don’t enjoy anymore.

i might get into it again next winter or spring, and if i do i’ll probably pay the studio fee out of pocket rather than starting a patreon up again for it. we’ll see.

Roach’s Ceramic Patreon Is Shutting Down

Important Patreon News! I’ll be shutting my Patreon for ceramic work down at the end of September, and starting up again with a new Patreon for illustration and comic work. For the duration of September, I’m going to be doing my best to get in touch with all my patreons and make sure they got all the rewards they were entitled to, and make the last set of mugs, teacups, and pendants for everyone. Post office problems with losing my pendant rewards still seems to be an issue, so I’ll be trying to figure out who’s still missing what, and sending extra copies out. Please feel free to contact me through patreon, tumblr, or email with questions and complaints about where your rewards are. I’ve still got a number of mugs on my shelves that I know should go to someone but can’t figure out who.

I do want to thank all my supporters for their generosity, patience, and understanding. You’ve all been wonderful and helped make the last couple years a really valuable artistic journey for me.

i did a little white bat a long time ago and only photographed it recently! i’ve never put him up for sale because you can still see the lumps from where his handle broke off during bisque firing, the poor baby. but october’s bearing down fast, so i’m gonna make a lot more bat mugs soon! stay tuned for that.
