Part 2 of project speedo: I completely disassembled the speedo and housing for a thorough cleaning. I brushed on some clear coat to try to keep my numbers from flaking off more. Lots of little delicate parts throughout the whole assembly. Lots of dirt within the gauges also. The factory didn't lubricate the nylon gears and I figured that if I did it would jump cause dirt to build up plus cause resistance for them to move. They weren't overly worn so they were cleaned and put back together. I did spin the speedo assembly with the drill to make sure it worked before reassembly. Seems to spin smoothly after. I also pulled the cable out of the housing to clean and apply grease to it. I'll have to pick up another cable as mine has some wear grooves in the cable itself. Overall, not took difficult if you are careful with delicate parts and have patience. Now to put it back in the car and go for a test drive. #designsbyandrew #bella #64belair #restoration #xframe #bbody #chevroletbelair #chevrolet #car #cars #60smuscle #realmetal #landyachtz #ironsides #speedo #speedometer #cleanandrepair
