The Cleaners are an organization of mercenaries that was begun by Alexander Corvinus several centuries ago, though even those in power now can not say exactly when the group was begun. Their sole purpose was to insure that all trace of the war between the Lycans and the Vampires (ultimately, the war between the descendents of the sons of Alexander) was eradicated from the human world, and that all evidence of the Immortal species were destroyed to protect the species and their Progenitors from human retaliation. The group has been and continues to be funded by a seemingly unlimited financial supply; there equipment is on par with, and in some cases, surpasses, military grade as they often find themselves combating or cleaning up after species far more durable than their human selves. Only the best of the best, and those with the steadiest of nerves find themselves invited to join the ranks of the elite mercenary group, and secrecy is an absolute and vital part of the job requirements. They operate outside of the law, and they have safe houses and supply routes that cover the entire world. Those within the organization hold military rank, and there are positions available for those of all skill sets; muscle, arms, demolitions, security, transportation, intelligence, code breaking, and computer hackers and operators, all have a chance to gain favor in the ranks of the organization. Once led by Alexander, and under him his loyal follower Samael, with both of them lost the organization has lost its path, its driving force somewhat in the last two decades. Twelve years ago, when the corporate entity seemed on the edge of collapse, a new head stepped forward, claiming the position of leadership, bearing a seal and a family tree that showed him to be a descendent of Alexander, and Alexander's right hand man in his younger days; Samuel Kingston. With his strict guiding hand, the organization has found its way back on track, but it still holds the fractures of corruption in its ranks that have yet to be weeded out. In the last year, the position of second in command has been taken by Paxton Corvin, the hybrid daughter of Selene and Michael.

Military ranks and designation are used within the ranks of the Cleaners, and there are always several units on active duty with others in off time or training. They have a vast R&D department for weaponry and surveillance development, and have a habit of collecting the brightest young minds and the most hardened and elite soldiers to their payroll. ***NOTE ;; One of the things that should be clarified is that is not the true intention of the Cleaners to do any harm to either Lycan or Vampire. Their original and true purpose is to clean up after the war when it spills over into the human world. They monitor communications around the world, particularly in Hungary where the main number of supernaturals live, and work to erase any evidence of a war; deleting files, stealing evidence, bribing or using chemical induced short term amnesia to get silence from the humans that may have seen anything they shouldn't have. There was a ten year period in between Alexander's death and when Kingston took charge eight years ago where the organization began to slip, and a few of the groups slid to the dark side, as it were, and became mercenaries for her for the vampires and lycans, or even capturing and selling off vampires and lycans to gladiatorial pits or scientific research groups around the world on the black market but those are (supposedly) all weeded out now.
