Our main goal on the assignment was to tie the Chernobyl Power Plant (and Pripyat, the city evacuated after the nuclear accident in 1986) together with the current life in Slavutych; since both cities were built for and around the workers of Chernobyl. We had a plan, and the story unfolded perfectly. Of course there were aMANY levels to the work that CFF is doing, such as The Dogs of Chernobyl, helping past and current workers at the plant, local rehabilitation centers and hospitals. To top it off there was a story in itself around every corner, so photographing pretty much everything I saw has been a dream.
