New Art Challenge! I call this the #CleanThisUp challenge. Take this rough sketch image and do a digital or traditional cleaned line version of it (or hand ink it as part of #inktober2020 )and post that with the #cleanthisup hashtag and tag me too. I want to see them. I’ll repost some in my stories too. Here’s why I thought of this: we all have done a rough sketch and then went to do the clean up line and KILLED IT! Argh. There is an art to doing good clean up and to me, it coles down to two things: find a line (I prefer pencil or digital pencil) with a slight bit of pressure sensitivity so you get a little line variance (not like a mechanical pencil or marker “dead line”) and “always be pleasing”. Make the drawing better as you tie it down- don’t trace it! This is you chance to fix tangents, make things feel more dimensional, and solidify shapes.
