The bacchanalia needed to be perfect—or as close to perfection as Nora could manage on such a short notice. She could have helped the duckling more in his planning if she was being honest with herself, but given other things she has been working on recently, she decided not to be too hard on herself. Besides, as long as the arson was the best part of the event, she will be satisfied with herself.
Who would be there wasn’t really on her list of concerns. Considering her current debt load, there wasn’t anyone she didn’t want to see and as long as a certain fee didn’t try showing their faces here, everything would be fine. Or so she thought.
A face she hasn’t seen in well over thirteen years was casually walking about the party and Nora nearly teleported away off of instinct. What she did instead was equally as stupid as she went up to Clem. “Hey… what are you doing here?”
