What if its a girl?
She got even prettier in his eyes with pregnancy, if that was possible. Three months have passed since the day he fell on his knees with the weight of the happiness he never thought he could feel again.
By now it was very uncommon for someone don’t know who they were. If their roles in the war weren’t enough, the fame obtained after helping so many villages did it. No matter how, no matter where, if they were in a crow all eyes would follow them. They always caught attention, even when doing the silliest tasks, like groceries in a small village. He actually never liked to stop in the market this time of the day, too many people, too many stares, but until today it never had bothered Sakura.
She was squeezing one apple in her hands, with a way more strength then necessary.
"Anata, I'm concerned. I feel like everybody is expecting for our baby to be a boy.” Her gaze shifted from the fruit in her hand to his eyes before continuing her reasoning. “What if our baby is a girl?”
Sasuke narrowed his eyes, he didn’t want to think that her worries were silly but he couldn’t understand her. If they had a girl, a boy, twins or triplets so what? It would be wonderful in any way. Figuring he didn’t get her point she lowered her head while sighing the next words.
“I don't want her to hear malicious comments just because they think she should be someone else to fulfill their stupid expectations."
Taking the apple from her, he placed it in the basket, before she made an irreversible damage to the poor fruit.
“Sakura who are ‘they’?”
"Not sure, but maybe everybody?"
Her husband didn’t answer until they got to the next stand. And her mood started to change from worry to slightly irritation. How could he, of all people, he that growed up without a minute of peace from gossipers not be worried about it!
"I'm sure the Dobe, Kakashi, your parents, Tsunade and the rest of your friends don't care, they will love and support this child as much as us no matter gender or anything.” Using his lone hand to run through his hair he continued. “Sakura you are caring about people you don't even know."
"But..."
"If it happens will be just some random people whom are not worth your thoughts, just stupid bastards. Let them waste their time, we still will have our family." Letting the words reach her, he saw the light red of anger in her face fading to give way to a warm smile, one that should never leave mouth.
Knowing that everything was okay again he smirked at her.
"But if it really bothers you that much I can hunt every one of them down."
