My memory is sort of fuzzy with this story but I still remember it mostly, some of the details might be wrong woops. Anyways during the Trench Tour I went to see them live for the first time and it was amazing even though I was so far from the stage. There was a specific moment that stuck with me though between Tyler and Josh. They were on the pit stage about to play Legend. Tyler was explaining the story behind it before beginning to play the first notes on his piano. It was a very emotional moment but then Tyler began to laugh and stopped playing. He looked up to Josh who was right across from him, staring at him, most likely waiting for his que. Then Tyler joked how he couldn't be serious when Josh was looking at him, I think he was sort of bashful about it. The two laughed about it but Tyler tried again and failed once more to be serious, giggling up a storm. I don't remember their exact banter but Tyler was sorta fake mad at Josh for making him lose his focus, 'This is a serious song!' He might have said. Josh offers to turn around, saying maybe it would help. They try it but Tyler laughs again almost immediately and goes 'nope, that's worse' or something like that. Josh faces Tyler once more and Tyler's like 'I just gotta focus' and then they finally are able to play the song. It was a really funny, sweet moment that I haven't heard anyone talk about so I wanted to share it. ^-^
Them breaking character is so funny 😭 i love it when they stop and just talk to the audience, they’re so unserious sometimes. Great story :)))
