#Repost @350tacoma (@get_repost) ・・・ 350 Tacoma and friends spent part of a beautiful Saturday trekking about 13 miles through the Port of Tacoma, learning about current local issues and history along the way. We met up at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, acknowledging that the land we'd traverse is the ancestral home of the Puyallup People. We biked to the end of the Blair-Hylebos peninsula, past the arsenic-laden Arkema site, Puget Sound Energy’s fracked gas LNG blast zone and the Occidental Chemical Superfund site, then stopped for a break at the Puyallup Tribe’s former riverboat casino on the Blair waterway. Our ride ended back at Hylebos Creek where we wrapped with a discussion about our outing, our hopes for our port and for the green, sustainable possibilities and potential it holds. Keep your eyes on our Facebook events! We host these tours a few times a year, and we hope you'll join us next time! #StandWithPuyallup #NOLNG #PortOfTacoma #Tacoma #ClimateResistance
