@hollowedchest asked: ❛ so, what do i owe this pleasure? ❜
"the bullet in your leg?" the one she's currently trying to find in the layers of muscle. he's lucky it didn't fracture, not so lucky that it's not a shallow wound.
teagan grabs another gauze, pressing down on the wound. "i get tryin' to be tough, but morphine is still available if you need it."
@hollowedchest
she's walking into clint's apartment after a twelve hour overnight shift. there's shadows under her eyes and her hair is a tangled mess. teagan smiles when she see's lucky and clint asleep on the couch.
she kneels down, rubbing clint's arm gently to wake him. "hey." teagan kisses him on the lips softly, but repeatedly. "you told me to wake you when i got here."
“ look at me. “ // @hollowedchest
this is the part of the job that's never easy. not everyone makes it, a hospital is filled with death. teagan for the most part is good at shielding herself from it all. you have to care these people but you can't let yourself get attached.
in this case, she never had time to get attached. a drunken parent, driving with their five year old in the backseat. the car wrapped around a pole. the child was covered in blood and wounds, weakly clutching a white teddy bear stained red. the parent, of course, is completely fine. a bruise on their head.
she held the little girls hand as she died, and she swears she felt it. it took her breath away and she had to take an early break.
she didn't check her phone, didn't know that clint was coming to bring her coffee when he finds her kneeled down on the side of the hospital. there's blood on her hands and on her scrubs.
clint's hand on her face snaps her back just a little. taking a moment to process the words and his presence. 'look at me' he says.
she takes a shaky breath, wiping her nose. "is that coffee for me?"
@hollowedchest // [ TOUCH ] for one muse to give the other a massage clint and teagan!
clint is on the floor, teagan on the couch with her hands massaging his head, moving down to his neck and then his shoulders. it's a quiet night, one of her three days off from the ER. it's storming in the city, the rain a nice relaxing ambiance for their time together.
teagan grimaces a little, frowning. "you are tense, clint." her shoulders feel like trying to poke a boulder. "you might need an actual massage."
@hollowedchest: “ you don't need to worry. you're safe. “
but she is worried. there's never a time where she isn't worried. especially now, when clint has protected her against gio's men. anyone else would be grateful ( and she is ) but she is scared what this will mean for her.
the men are going to tell gio. gio will get angry and retaliate. maybe he'll even tell his father about this. god. gio knows where she lives and he could even come to her personally. or maybe he'll visit juliet. the unknown scares her so bad. it doesn't matter that busted her knee and scraped her face running from the men. the wounds ahve already patched up, the blood dry and flaking off her skin.
it's not like teagan to run, usually she just waits until it's over. but maybe it's because she knew she had somewhere to go. that she wasn't too far from clint's apartment. they had roughed her up a little before she got there, but it was a miracle that he had been outside when she turned the corner, running while the men grabbed for her.
they're gone now, and she's got her arms so tight around clint she's worried she might be hurting him. for the time in a long time she's crying, sobbing as she realizes what she's gone. "but i'm not. i'm not and i never will be now."
@hollowedchest said: “You don’t feel safe, here.”
her first instinct would be to lie. to try and give clint a sense of comfort and ease about what she's feeling. however, she just can't. not to clint. not to the first person who she's ever let this close to her. who knows about her life and what she's going through.
it's just a shame that she can't, she wants to spare him the truth.
"no. i don't." she pulls her gaze from the window of clint's apartment. teagan should feel safe. this is probably the safest place she could be. she just doesn't. "i don't feel safe anywhere. i don't think i've ever felt safe since i was born."
there's a slight pause. "but that's not your fault."
