Paint
((An avenger/shadowfrost drabble. Something fun.)) Also be the first one to name the movie mentioned and I will draw you a chibi of your choice. AverageBunny won.
"Shoot!" came a female voice from the door ahead of him.
Steve curiously stuck his head through the doorway, not sure of what he expected to find.
The room was an artist's dream. It had shelves stocked with every paint and drawing supply imaginable. There was easel, canvases, and sketchbooks galore. All wrapped up in nice see-through containers. Steve's fingers itched to pick up a pad and charcoal and just start sketching.
"Hey, are you good at carnival games?" came a voice right beside him, making him jump.
He spun around to see a short woman with bright red hair, amused blue eyes, and a streak of yellow paint going across her cheek.
She gestured to the area behind her where a big canvas was propped up against the papered-up wall. It had paint-filled balloons tacked to it and darts were littered around the balloons. "I saw this in a movie once and I've wanted to try it, but I'm just lousy at darts. Care to join me?"
"I haven't played in a while but, sure, sounds like fun," he smiled.
"Great!" she quipped, walking over to get the darts from the canvas. "I'm Khloe, Khloe Potts, Pepper's little sister."
"I'm Steve Rogers," he said. Aim, hit; a splash of blue on the canvas.
"Nice shot. You're Captain America? Tony said that the Avengers might move into the tower." Aim, miss.
Steve targeted the balloon she aimed for. Aim, hit; purple joined the blue.
"Oooh, that looks cool." Aim, miss.
Aim, hit; orange. "Huh," he mused aloud, "That strangely works."
Khloe nods, "So it does." Aim, hit. Green splatters all over them.
She laughed at the bewildered look on Steve's face as he surveyed the green on his shirt. "It figures, I hit one and it explodes all over us."
Tony, all oily and dirty from working in his lab, walked in while they were laughing at the mess.
"Hey, Capcicle, I've been looking all over for you. Coulson wants the team to have bonding time." He paused, "Why is there paint all over you?" Noticing Khloe, he narrowed his eyes, "Ice Queen is this your doing?"
"I plead the fifth, Tin Man." She looked down at herself then grinned at Tony, "Hey Tony, want a hug?"
He tried to run but she was already there embracing him in a gentle glomp and rubbing her face against his to get green paint into his beard. "Steve help!" he yelped.
Cold blue paint splattered over both of them causing Khloe to squeak and let Tony go. She turned to look at Steve who, despite his blue hand, had an innocent look on his face. She dipped her hand into some pink paint, "I wonder how you would look with a pink beard Captain."
Steve was faster than Tony. She nearly caught him when he neared the door but she ran into someone. She fell back and heard someone laughing. Looking up at the auburn haired woman whose shirt she ruined with paint she stumbled over her apology mentioning trying to give Steve a pink beard for splattering her with blue paint which caused the person behind her to laugh harder.
The woman silenced the laughter with a look and walked calmly to the red paint then walked to the frozen-in-place Steve. "Natasha, don't," He tried to get away but the Black Widow was faster. Steve was left with a bright red beard.
"What?" the laughing man piped up, "you guys were having a paint fight and didn't invite us?" He dove for the purple and flicked some at Tony who retaliated with the orange paint that was nearby.
Khloe grabbed the yellow paint and threw some at the laughing man. He turned to her in shock and she shrugged, "What? You said paint fight."
"You must be Khloe, I'm Clint," he said.
"Nice to meet you, Clint," she gestured to Tony who was still attacking them with orange, "shall we?"
Clint hit Tony as he ducked the paint but Khloe managed to hit the two men, one with glasses the other with long blond hair, who just appeared at the door.
Silence fell, no one dared to breathe. Until the guy with glasses started laughing, grabbed the green and targeted Tony. The blond she splashed grabbed the white.
The rest was a techno-colored blur. Everyone was splashed with red and purple on places that would be kill shots, liberally hit with blue, yellow, and orange, and white and green were everywhere.
"What is going on here?"
The team and Khloe turned to the door where a nondescript man in a suit stood staring emotionless at them.
Tony grinned, "Team bonding, Agent. Care to join?"
The agent glared at Tony, "Did you start this Stark?"
"Nope, it was Yellow and Blue Rangers over there."
Steve looked confused but Khloe snorted, "At least I'm Trini and not Kimberly."
"Ms Potts, I had hoped to meet you under better circumstances," he drolled.
She looked around, "How is this a bad circumstance? No one is injured and we managed to decorate the room, sorry Tony but it was dreadfully dull." She looked back at the agent, "I think this is a fine circumstance to meet, Agent..."
"Coulson, Phil Coulson."
"I would shake your hand, Agent Coulson, but as you can see, I'm a little wet," she grinned.
Phil gave her a small smile then turned to Natasha and raised an eyebrow.
Natasha, who was the least splattered, mirrored the motion back at him. She grabbed Clint, who was the second least splattered, by the elbow and they left the room.
The guy with glasses and the blond slunk out next both heavily covered in paint.
Tony stood, taking in the carnage of their paint war. "You know what Ice Queen? This actually looks good."
"Yeah, its a good thing I used the cheap paint to do all this."
He clapped her on the shoulder and left.
She turned back to Steve, "Well, that was fun. I think I'm going to let the paint dry on the that before I try to pop more balloons. It was nice meeting you." She left the room as well.
Steve surveyed the room. The art supplies were saved by their clear containers and the canvases were under a plastic sheet. He left the room, deciding he should go take a shower before he started sketching out his new team and new friend.
