Tap Tap Tap.
She continuously drummed her fingers against the table. Sitting tall, glaring evenly at the book laid out before her. The sound of the crypt filled only with gentle rapping and crisp turn of a page.
With cold disdain she settled her eyes on an entry, a line, a single name.
She interwove her fingers and settled her chin as she pondered the name.
“Is a fool who casts their hat with a despicable lot, to be considered as well, despicable..? Is he but a tool used by his companions, no more dangerous than an unweilded sword?” she whispered to herself.
“Or is a sinner nay but a fool, who takes a path of deprivation and villainy who lies to themselves that what they do has no ill consequences? That his choices are just based on the perspective of his kin and that the opposition is, to him, villainy?”
She leaned closer to the book, scrutinizing the page and illustration.
“Am I thy villain, fool?”
She traced a finger over the name.
“No. I am thy Judge, thy Goddess, thy Lord.... but I shall not be thy Executioner. That... shall be held for another.”
He closed the book with finality.
