The Cloak of Levitation

So if you follow me, or even peek at my blog lately, you know I’m already BROTP shipping Doctor Strange/Cloak pretty hard...with a bit of tongue-in-cheek OTP shipping for good measure.  And this is even before I’ve seen the film (only 48 hours to go!). 

I saw a gif set the other day, and it occurred to me (especially from the first two gifs) that Cloak is essentially US, if we were a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Very protective & affectionate towards Strange, maybe even acting out of turn, possibly unexpectedly doing things that might irritate him, because it/we think would it be in his best interests.  And I’m sure Cloak wouldn’t hesitate to swathe him in softness & warmth, as Strange has traveled a pretty rough road to master the mystic arts; the guy just needs some serious hugs & gentle understanding, don’t’cha know...so Cloak can be the one to do all those things we would if only we could.

I’m guessing that’s got to be at least some of the reason why I’m seeing such a universally amused & affectionate response to Cloak by those who’ve seen the movie.  Cloak is definitely...US.

(On a short break at work, no time for much, but friends I just have to say I’m loving your responses to the Strange/Cloak fic.  Please know @garuda-dreams-of-rain that Cloak has been waiting a hundred lifetimes of men, at least, and this little bit more until she gathers Strange into her loving embrace, will be to her mere heartbeats in time.  Patience is all that she needs.)
