What a terrible burden, don't you think?
"Leave you troubles outside! Life is disappointing... Forget it! We have no troubles here! Here life is beautiful..."
Effie Trinket, escort District 12, socialite in the Capitol. Predominately based on Movie-verse, but pulls inspiration from books, movies and headcanons. Takes place between the events of the 50th Hunger Games and the end of the Mockingjay Book
Sunrise on the Reaping-Era:
"So please, sir. If you run into my Mama, don't reveal my indiscretion... give a working girl a chance."
Effie Trinket is a young trendsetter, recent university graduate, and is starting to make her way in the world... until she gets wrapped up in the second quarter quell and the role of a stylist then escort. She's optimistic about the world around her and wants to do her best for her sister and her new victor. Predominately on the SOTR book and headcanons.
"Suppose you're one frightened voice being told what the choice must be... go on. Tell me, I will listen. What would you do? If you were me?"
Effie Trinket in District 13. It is assumed that she was rescued during an incredibly spur-of-the-moment plan on Haymitch Abernathy's end, presenting her to Alma Coin and Plutarch Heavensbee as a potential asset... set as the one supposed to try and pull the propaganda together. Takes place between the end of Catching Fire and the end of Mockingjay movies.
"He will hold me fast, I'll be home at last... not a loser, anymore, but the last time and the time before..."
Following the war and the death of Prosie at the hand of the rebellion's bombing run, Effie Trinket finds herself lost as she finds herself too detached to stay in the Capitol. So Effie arrives in District 12, once again barging into the lives of her victors, and trying to find her way after the war.
"The day she died the neighbors came to snicker... 'Well, that is what comes from too much pills and liquor'... but when I saw her laid out like a queen. She was the happiest corpse I'd ever seen."
Following the end of the war, Effie Trinket loses herself to her vices and to living for pleasure... because what else is she meant to do? Her sister is dead, she's certain the victor she'd once known likely never wants to see her face... this world is all she has left...
Love is the Breath of the Universe:
"Love, mysterious and noble, both cross the ecstasy of the heart... It won't be hard, then, for you to forget me."
It wasn't as Effie Trinket had never loved... but when you know you life is short, why not indulge life as it could be for pleasure it could be. Why worry about the future she would never have if she never loved... But there will always be something that changes her mind... and something will always take that away until it's too late
