How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

Since about season 2 or 3? 

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

Around Tallahassee.

What drew you to this event?

All the great pieces from past years and a general joy of mixing CS with all the different myths legends and spooks out there.

What inspired your topic?

Well I'm drawing for @zaharadessert​  this year so her fic will be my inspiration this round!

For our artists: What kind of art do you like to do? Picsets, painting, digital, etc? Feel free to give as much info as you like.

I like doing both digital and traditional drawing and painting. Not sure yet which way I'll be going this year. We'll see what best fits the story. I like to try matching colours and style to the tone of the story.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?Looking forward to working with Zaharadessert, I've really been enjoying their Heart of the Saviour series so it'll be fun to be joining her on a new journey with a new story.

CS Fic Rec . . . Tuesday?

Real life has prevented me from posting on CS Fic Rec Monday in far too long, so I’m just gonna post a rec on Tuesday. So there.

Summary: Killian Jones may have just had the worst year of his life. The loss of his hand, of his career, and of his pride were almost more than he could take. In a bid to reclaim his life, Killian decided it was time to face his fears, and get back on the metaphorical horse, or in his case, back on the water. Only, the purchase of a haunted second-hand boat may just come at the cost of his sanity.

This fic was written by @wellhellotragic​ for the @csrolereversal​ event, which means it actually started with amazing artwork by @clockadile​ which you can admire here and here - it will make your jaw drop it’s so beautiful! So, this fic didn’t really need my pitiful little picset, but I made one anyway. Cause I love this ghostly story set at sea SO much! And as always, @wellhellotragic​ had me guessing until the very end.

One of the best part of going to cons is getting to meet shipmates in person, and in Vancouver I met the amazingly talented @clockadile (at Main St Brewery, of all places!) and before I had to go home (boo!) she gave me a little gift,

(I really need to polish off my old tablet and get back to scribbling!) I will never forget the day you drew my delightful asshole Beth because I nearly died from how amazing it was! How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

Since about season 2b

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

Beanstalk was great but it really set in in Neverland.

What drew you to this event?

This one's been going on for a few years now and it's definitely produced some of my favourite content. OUAT already has a lot of supernatural elements, mixing it even more is just right!

What inspired your topic?

I've got a bit of time to decide on my topic right now, I'm mostly just thinking about different illustration styles and what sort of feelings I want to evoke with them, if I want to go dark and mysterious, ethreal, or just cozy, that'll probably effect which supernatural topic I land on. Then once I choose my topic I'll play with it even more. What kind of lighting? What colours? It's always fun to explore.

Sketches and paintings. I've been trying to do more watercolours in the past couple years. I love the looseness of the medium and I spend so much of my work hours drawing digitally, it's nice to get away from the screen.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Everyone else's works! Whether we're treading deeper grooves into our favourite trope paths or throwing a whole new mythology into the mix the content is always great!

Looking forward to Kendra’s artwork. She’ll be dropping her original composition on July 24th!

Since about season 2 I think? I saw they were going to Neverland and wanted started watching.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan? 

I was a maybe to start, and was full on board by the time they went to Neverland.

What drew you to this event? 

All the great work from its last runs and who doesn't love more supernatural magic?

What inspired your topic? 

I'll be arting for @seriouslyhooked​ and am super ready to draw some good wolfies.

Drawing and painting! I've been working hard on my watercolour lately and hope to continue with that in this event.

WOLVES! I FREAKING LOVE DRAWING WOLVES! AND NOW I GET TO DRAW WOLVES! Though I'll have to see if I can calm myself down long enough to get some people faces in there ;)

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

I don't even remember. But they've always been fun on screen together.

What drew you to this event?

The resulting fics and artwork last year were fantastic but I was too busy with other events to feel like I could commit.

What inspired your topic?

@whimsicallyenchantedrose 's fic will be my inspiration as we get further into this. I'll be illustrating for her and have a few ideas floating around as my brain bounces between something art neuveau-ish or something that pushes the contrast of reality vs fantasy in one image. But I'm not sure if the tone will match yet so we'll see where it goes!

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Developing a new look for a new world with our favourite pair and building it with @whimsicallyenchantedrose. I really like trying to give any fics I work on a style to match their story in how I colour and shade it. And getting to work with the talented writers of the fandom is always a treat (plus I get early peaks at the story)

Oh I’m so excited for this!!! @whimsicallyenchantedrose will be dropping in August so that’s when we’ll see Kendra’s art! Can’t wait!!! Everyone go give her some love!
