A smile slid onto his face as he found a pecan pie recipe; he recalled a slightly fuzzy image of himself and Mitsuru attempting to bake the very same thing in his apartment, quite a few years ago. Funny how he couldn’t remember anything apart from trying to brush a patch of flour off her cheekbone with an equally flour-covered hand.

“Good home made food is the best way towards a man’s heart, they say,” Iwai said with a playfully authoritative air. “If Arisato likes you, it doesn’t matter if you’re a pop star or a cleaner. I mean it.”

Dear Mom,

The first foreign file I received that wasn’t from the Kirijo Server was from a sister unit of mine. She doesn’t have a name, only a designation number. She’s Unit #024. She gave me a file, told me about you. She made a wish. She wanted to meet you, to thank you.

She can’t. I was forced to destroy her. I took her wish upon myself, made it my life’s mission to fulfill it. And this is why this letter exists.

Thank you, mom. Thank you for being part of the experiment to mind-map your brain. Thank you for being our personality template. I, no, we can’t think of a better person to be based of. We can’t be any prouder than being things born from you. You’re a courageous and compassionate person, that much I know from the beginning, from hearing your old voice message you left to us. You’re brave, you’re kind, and you have the biggest heart of everyone I have ever encountered. You loved us unconditionally, without ever knowing of us, without ever knowing if we existed. You wanted us to be happy, despite knowing nothing of us.

Thank you, for giving us humanity. Thank you, for loving us. Thank you, for being our mother.

You might never know this, but you saved the world. Your wish, your kindness, saved the world. So please, never ever think you never amount to anything, or that your life has no purpose. If it wasn’t for you, there would be no us...

While I ship Zen with Shinjiro, Akihiko and Micheal because of your cute threads with them, I ship Zen with Rei because, in canon, they compliment each other so well. Zen will always do what he think needs to be done for Rei's sake, and Rei cares for him as a person and doesn't take advantage of that. Both of them changed because of what the other did for them, and while they may have their disagreements, in the end, all they really want is for the other person to be happy.

Who do you ship my muse with?

I ship zen with so many people and it’s all Mako and Wulf’s fault. Gdi i’m stuck in shipping hell 

but yeah i love zen and rei for what they do for each other. I adore them being together and I sorta also really like how they care for each other it’s not...well, obsessive. 

I’ve told you and the others how i don’t like yanderes, I find them terrifying and they sorta just make me want to lock my doors and never come out. it’s part of the reason why i refuse to watch future diary...i hate manipulative characters.Zen and Rei could have EASILY followed that path with one or the other being manipulative of the other. Zen being a secret god who clings to emotion and Rei being the sick girl who doesn’t want to disappear and doesn’t want the kindness Zen showed her to vanish. But instead we get them genuinely caring for each other and one is willing to give leeway for the other. at the beginning of Q Zen allows the IT/SEES to be with him and Rei/Trusts them to be around Rei and eventually opens his heart to them. They both worry about each other and aren’t obsessive while still being protective and I like that. 

okay sure he points a crossbow at teddie but come on teddie needed to chill and it was either zen pointing a crossbow or mitsu eventually doing an execution teddie pick your poison 

sorry if this is really off track but you said most of what i was gonna say so i put my two cents in about another topic about this ship..............im sorry

I love you. I could tell you a million times over and it still wouldn’t be enough to show how much I care for you. You’re the reason I have a heart, the reason I continue to cherish the life that every day brings. You have given me so much, and I can only hope I will be able to return the favor for as long as time allows us to be together. 

I would do anything for you. I adore you. 

I will never leave you. This is the promise I make to you. No matter what you looks like, no matter what happens, I will always be at your side. You’re perfect in every way despite what you think. 

I wish to spend eternity with you...I know it is a selfish thing for me to wish, but a god is allowed to be selfish now and then, isn’t he..?

I'm sorry, I have to be shipper trash: Tell me about what was going through his mind when Rei came back during our first thread. What about when he confessed to her? What about when she kissed him? Just. That was a really good day for him and I want to hear all about it.

send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on I might write anything from a paragraph to a whopping essay, but send me something you’ve noticed about my characterisation or just something you want to know about my muse and I will write what I can! 

hmmm. 

describing this is a little hard cause most of what was on zen’s mind was ‘holy shit she’s back, am I dreaming? This can’t be happening she’s actually here. She’s not gone forever she’s back’ and the like. His mind at the time had just been a muddled mess of emotions that ranged from guilt and fear because he wasn’t able to go with her back then to complete and utter joy because he was able to hold her in his arms again. 

And as for what went through his mind when they kissed, it was less of a thought and more of a feeling that just overwhelmed everything. The feeling that all of this was just right. That for once his empty existence held meaning again. He wasn’t alone with the burden of memories that no one remembered, he wasn’t the sad god within the clocktower, he was Zen, and she was Rei. And he was never letting her go again.
