Outlawed Gold (closed with clockwork-kenway)
Her horse gallopped at a steady rhythm, apparenty aimlessly wandering through the town. The noble animal's proud stance seemed to have been shadowed by its tiredness, for its head was now lowered, and pacing around with each shep it took.
"Easy, boy," nurmured Diana, giving it a gently pat. "We'll be stop soon." As soon as she found the place she was looking for.
The Assassin, forced by the setting her voyage took her in, was dressed accordingly to the fashion there. But by no means was she wearing the female attire, not when she was set on traveling. No, she was sporting the much more practical pants, along with an undershirt and a waistcoat. Her long overcoat was successfully hiding both her gauntlets and the flints she wore at her hips. It was all but flattering to her womanly curves, but it mattered little in that day. With a frown, Diana took a hand up, to fix her hat; the only protection she had against the sun.
She sighed; truth of the matter was she was not enjoying the place. There was something about it that made her feel uneasy. Perhaps it was the climate and landscapes, so different from her own home, or the hygiene of the towns, where animals and people alike were marching down the streets. Or perhaps it was the lack of a feeling of permanence. Everything seemed new in the Frontier, and so easy to shatter! As quickly as the wooden buildings appeared, as prone they were to fall apart. It was all much unlike the sense of permanence, of security she had clung to in other cities.
The brunette prompted her steed to stop. They had reached a peculiar looking building, a tavern. It was in such places that she knew she could find the man she was to meet. Perhaps Lady Luck was on her side and he would be there. She left the horseto get some rest and food and walked in.
Everything was normal in the tavern; music was playing, the performers impossible to see in the croud, and everyone was happy, almost as if intoxicated by the ale. Diana walked to the bar to get herself a pint.
