Indeed. There are plenty of eras that have hats that look less silly to the modern eye, but she seems to be fixated on the eras of "silly hats", is insisting on historical accuracy and honestly something has to give.

That's sort of the plan, depending on where the couple he lives with are when I stop by. It's a small house and it would be awkward to continue our convo in front of them.

What a shitter :( Are the ''might'' and ''may have'' an affectation or is the source for this unreliable? (sorry I'm bad at telling that sort of thing sometimes)

It’s a case of I’m pretty damn sure that’s what is going on, as are multiple other folks I trust, but since I didn’t hear it directly from CMMB it’s technically speculation. (No need to be sorry. :) )

Me too. and thank you it’s honestly bumming me out to see her this caught up in the idea that she needs a student teacher  mentor ship, because when I met she just seem to do her art for the love of doing it.

I am nearing that point. but since I met her through the medieval group, that is difficult.

yeah if it's that serious, she's not ready to be someone's student if she doesn't, like, have someone already interested in taking things down that path for her. and it's not your job to do that for her just 'cause you're her friend and ready for that phase of your hobby before she is, like you said

things are kind of hinky because she’s been playing for over a decade and I’ve been playing for a little over a year, but she openly admits that she didn’t get serious about it until about three years ago. and it is like she circulates between having all these requirements from anyone she would be willing to have as a teacher, to having none because she just wants one so bad.

wow, i am just super jealous!!!

Pewter’s a really interesting metal since it has such a low melting point that I should be able to do castings at home as well, but this first time I definitely want  supervision and I’m so glad this has been set up. If you weren’t an ocean away I would totally invite you. :(

oooo the indeed. I’m making pilgrims badges with my medieval name’s first initial to hand out to people as a personal token of my favor. The plan is to decorate a garment with them and if someone really inspires me to cut one of them off and give it to them.

Oh my! That is a LOT. I can imagine why you would be feeling so stressed. Those inspections sound downright unjustifiable. I hope it isn't discriminatorily based. I'm really sorry you're dealing with so much. You are such a nice person, you deserve to have a low stress life. I hope things get better and you're in my thoughts.

thank you. I don’t think it’s discrimination based, other than the place hateing poor people, but it is  so exceedingly stressful.

I love you too and thank you. It just sucks, a lot. It would be annoying if only one of these things was going on, but combined with all that and my current money issues things feel fairly insurmountable.

Also, speaking as someone who has/has had many varied reasons for being unreliable/unreliable on short notice: letting people you work with know when something's wrong as soon as you can and apologising/trying hard to make up for it is like, 100% key

Yeah the utter lack of concern for the fact that she just was not showing up was galling.
