Karkat: Accept it. ==>
It was good while it lasted. You should have known better than to think it would go anywhere, that your relationship with your fellow Vantas would grow wings or learn how to manipulate time and space to work. But the rift has only been increasing and you spend more time asleep than awake when you should be focusing on the reality you are now occupying. You miss him terribly, and the dull ache in your chest flares every time you're struck with a memory of him. He's made quite an impression for a guy you couldn't stand in the beginning. You didn't know how wonderful quadrant life could be until all at once you were left devoid and devastated. Gamzee dropped you like a bad habit, and Kankri is nowhere to be seen. What if he came back? What if he messaged you? What then?
You're not sure, but you are sure that you need to stop sleeping so much. If he hasn't shown up yet, it's doubtful knowing his (nonexistent) concept of time that he will anytime soon, and even then it will be as intermittent as he has always been with you. You sit back in your chair, scrub your weepy eyes and peer blearily at Dave's handle. The only guy who's consistently been available even though you chose not to utilize him. Too many doubts, too much fear, and you didn't want to openly admit to the wreckage that is your emotional state as of late. But Dave wrestled it out of you with a few smooth words and a disarming nonchalance. You wish you had the nerve to engage him in a more physical form, but you are still busy licking your wounds. Who's to say you wouldn't do something utterly stupid and glue yourself to him just like you did to Kankri. You're such a desperate fool.
But the knowledge that Dave is only down the hall soothes you in ways you aren't ready to fully accept. Not just yet.
