After things go down in Order 66, Shiv is able to save a few more of their brothers from the emperor. Kix, thinking they failed shiv as they did with Tup and Fives, sees shiv alive and well after being freed from carbonite.

Kix folds Shiv into a tight hug, his chin on shiv's shoulders.
Kix: *in tears* I thought I failed you too
