My only problem is that execution (’floating’) is performed by putting the guilty party in an airlock, and shooting them out into space, thus wasting a large chunk of breathable air and also around 70 kilos (on average) of perfectly good organic matter. If you’re in a closed loop system where resources are so tight you’re considering culling hundreds of your own people to ensure the survival of the rest, you don’t waste anything. I’m not saying they should be literally cannibalising dead bodies, but you surely want to recycle them as nutrients for however they’re growing food, not shoot it out into space.
