King’s Game AU;
“Even though it was Arashi that aided me in getting this job .. I still work here, huh?” He spoke by himself, the grin fading. He’d taken advantage of his caster privileges that allowed him to enter the studio building without any trouble.
The large animated steam punk clock started its ringing sequence, giving a show to by-passers and tourists. About 30 floors above it the former idol ignored the chilly rain that started to fall while he stood on the roof, out in the open, an easy target to the small drops that fell from the darkening evening sky. This kind of mood put him at ease at least for a short moment.
“I’m sorry. I cannot accept a job which I earned after years of hard work with Arashi. It would make zero sense,” he started to laugh slightly at his lame pun while staring at the scenery. He was standing a long, safe distance from the edge of the roof. Otherwise his fear of heights would have distracted him from his last mission. He would face his phobia soon enough.
“I started to doubt it myself. Whether all of these people ever existed. Whether my own family ever existed,” he confessed to the man standing nearby. He didn’t know what to believe, the King had captured his mind and changed it into another piece in the twisted game of chess. He wanted to break free from this prison. “Our mutual dream was murdered in cold blood. 18 years of memories ripped apart. The rocky road to success became something we walked in vain. There is no purpose. It’s ridiculous,” his teary eyes shifted while he smiled bitterly.
“I don’t want to play his game anymore. And neither should you,” he said bluntly while his trembling hand reached inside his jacket. “I won’t allow that asshole to take away my last brother,” he turned around, determined eyes glistening with tears as he pulled out the gun he’d been hiding since him and Matsujun first got the weapons to protect themselves against the King’s minions. Now he would use one of these weapons to protect them both against the King himself.
“This way we will win, right? He won’t be able to manipulate and control us anymore. We choose our own fate. Well .. I’m sorry. I choose it for you, too,” his voice cracked slightly as he raised the gun and aimed it at his remaining Arashi brother while his useless arm was covered by his jacket.
However something kept holding him back. His finger struggled against the trigger, his hand trembling visibly.
“Arashi’s fight will stop here .. “
