Both Rhys and his twin Tristan were born into an initially happy family where they resided in Germany. While mirror images of one another for a long time, it was at a relatively young age that each boy began to develop distinctly different personalities and styles. As they grew older, their childhoods grew turbulent, tragedy affecting their family in different ways, causing both boys to learn to lean on one another heavily. Rhys was always interested in things that were different, anything that remotely stood out from the everyday doldrums. Flashy and dramatic, his looks and personality always brought critics, some harsher than others, but he knew he always had his brother on his side. Sticking up for one another became a habit, a part of their strength. While Rhys learned to build a steady confidence in himself, tucking away his more vulnerable aspects from view, he learned quickly he enjoyed entertaining others and redirecting their attention. While immature at times, he’s always pushed himself to grow, which is what lead him to apply and attend Cabot Creek University. The first year without his twin was hellish, the separation something they had never experienced before, and he was secretly relieved when Tristan decided to transfer. He never wants to have to face the world alone again.

Rhys’ professors see him as a student with potential that is left unfilled. Sarcastic and opinionated, he often runs his mouth during class at opportune moments. It’s the one thing they notice he has in common with his brother.

His friends know there is no one else quite like him. While most of the time he is eye catching, loud, entertaining, and always up for a joke, there are moments where he seems withdrawn. His friends know he has their back, but often are left wondering which version of him is the real Rhys.

At home, there were many times he was left out on the edges of the fray, going out with his brother because he wanted to stick with him. While popular with friends, he had his fair share of enemies, people who never quite understood his bizarre nature.

Stella bounced from home to home all around the state of Rhode Island until she was adopted at the age of ten. A child of the broken foster system, she developed a passion for fashion that kept her safe from prying eyes. If they look at her clothes, they aren’t looking at her. Her adoptive family did what they could and Stella’s life made a turnaround, but there still resides an insecure and uncertain young woman behind her tough exterior. Stella has a sailor’s mouth and a crude sense of humor that she doesn’t know when to turn off. Most of the time, she does her best to be optimistic because she knows she is her own worst enemy, but on occasion it is simply difficult when faced with extensive boundaries. When accepted to Cabot Creek University two years after graduating high school, Stella left home and paid her way through with a small scholarship and funds saved up from working herself to the bone.

Stella’s professors are often irritated by her attitude. They wish she would relax and stop assuming the worst in people, but they know that sometimes such things are easier said than done. Stella does alright in her classes.

Her friends find her interesting and funny but are often intimidated by her strong personality and crude sense of humor.

In high school, Stella’s friends were vast but not close. She kept people at an arm’s length.

Growing up in Cabot Creek, VT, Asher is no stranger to the mystery that hangs over the town like a dark cloud, threatening heavy rain but only managing a drizzle. His curious young mind often ran away with him as a child. He noticed things that Cabot Creek residents tried hard not to acknowledge, and commented on events that prompted his parents to berate him harshly. They warned him that no good would come of asking questions that no one wanted the answers to, and he would be better off keeping his mouth shut. As he grew up, he learned to stop asking questions, to stop paying attention to the strange stories on the news, and by the time he accepted his admission to Cabot Creek University, he had completely forgotten his childhood fascination with the town and it’s mysteries.

His professors know he has potential, but trying to draw it out of him is never an easy task. It has been compared to attempting to pry blood from a stone. His bouts of motivation are sporadic at best.

He high fives his friends as he passes them on campus and always comes up with the best ideas for a good time.

As a bright, enthusiastic student, his teachers in high school were always very fond of him. His report cards always had glowing comments, even if his grades didn’t quite match.

It was in Avalon, California that she was born and not a day goes by where she doesn’t recall the superiority of the West coast. The daughter of divorced parents, she spent her time bouncing back and forth between homes until she turned fourteen and decided her father was the more reasonable of the pair. The truth was, he typically didn’t mind if she stayed out late and did whatever she wanted. Ruby never quite felt like she belonged and thus she made her own makeshift family out of those that never did influence her well. University was not a step many expected her to make, but after two years of working as a waitress straight after high school, she realized she needed a higher education to make the money she wanted and Cabot Creek University was among the first to accept her.

Professors think Ruby needs an absolute attitude adjustment. She is argumentative and immature and they are unsure how she has gotten this far in her education.

Ruby has friends that are intimidated by her and rarely speak up against her. However, some get to know her and realize she isn’t as unapproachable as she may seem. They know they can count on her for a good time.

In high school, Ruby was often suspended or in detention. She managed to scrape by by submitting her work late and earning extra credit at the last minute

            Key information you should never forget...

Lena was born as the sun set over the red clay, white stucco buildings of Santa Fe; the first and only daughter in a mostly whole family. Life lacked complexity, which she loved and hated all at once, and she often sought adventures to liven up her life. Deserts rarely produce rain and she has certainly embodied sunshine through most of her life; but a darkness lingers beneath. The sweet, idyllic, small-town vibe of Cabot Creek offered everything that she could have hoped for in her first time away from home, and once she set sight on the beautiful college tucked between the gorgeous mountains beyond the Appalachian Trail of Vermont, this Southwestern girl is determined to be a New Englander.

By any Professor’s standard, Lena is the definition of a perfect student. Neat handwriting, correct margins, a strong voice with confident participation, she is the one all the shy kids rely on in class to do all the talking. She is timely. She studies. She never misses an assignment.

To her friends, Lena is an oddball. The girl who moved from sunny Santa Fe to chilly Vermont, she’s in for a culture shock that might trickle into her friendships.

In high school, Lena was an honor roll student with a small, but close group of friends.
