We wanted to make a formal announcement that Cabot Creek University will be shutting down.
First of all, let us say what an honor it has been to be your administration. We all had an idea for an amazing university, and those of you who have joined us on this journey mean the world to us. We are so proud that anyone would find our created world interesting and worth joining.
If we could, all of the administration would happily quit their jobs and move to a secluded island where we can devote all of our time to this group.
This is something we have struggled with deciding because we wanted to make this RP run long-term and we know a handful of you are still interested in the group; but unfortunately after many attempts at finding interest and gathering more players, we have come to a wall where we have gotten limited interest in the group after our first rounds of acceptance. Especially after losing some players, we feel there are not enough characters in play to achieve the things we wanted out of this group. You may have noticed that the dash has been inactive over the past couple weeks and we know this is hugely our fault, but with not a lot of players it is tough to keep an active dash and for our current players to stay motivated. We have come to the conclusion that the upkeep and time we have put into drawing interest has been consuming. Each of us have busy real lives, and while we were prepared to balance, we have run out of steam in terms of promoting, which we believe is one of the most important aspects in keeping up an active RP.
We want our players to know this has nothing to do with them and we appreciate each and every one of you for giving our group a chance. We really do adore all of you and thank you for spending some time with us. We may rework this concept and make some adjustments that we believe may help gather more interest in the future, but for now, real life must take priority.

Undecided. Lucy is a girl of many interests. When she first entered Cabot Creek, she thought she would pursue psychology. It had been something that interested her and she had read many books as a teenager. Then she took Sociology classes and thought that would become her major. She had seen quite a bit of society. Then she fell in love with History and now can not decide between the three.

Will your character have a job?:
After working two days at River Street Burger & Shake Shack, Lucy left on her lunch break and never returned. Eventually she got a job at The Hideout and has been happily work there for just over a year.
Give us a head canon about your character:
Lucy is an indecisive girl. Ask her what she wants to eat, and you’re stuck there for an hour. Where does she want to go after class? Everywhere and anywhere. Even simple questions can take her 15 minutes just to come up with an answer she’s perfectly satisfied with. The Hideout is the only place she’s ever really committed to. Her wanderlust even drew her to apply for other colleges after her first year at Cabot, although eventually she remained.
Lucy is pansexual. It’s not something she had to learn about herself or have a grand experience to learn. It was just something she always knew in the back of her mind. She’s romantically and sexually attracted to all genders.
There’s a saying. Jack of all trades, master of none. Lucy Flynn has started to learn many things but never finished. She took one summer of Taekwondo lessons before deciding it was too much work. She did three classes of gymnastics before saying she wasn’t flexible enough. She knows three sentences in Japanese, but that’s the farthest she got. She likes to try everything, it just never sticks.

What is an issue you feel most passionate about?:
“You heard of Richard the III? Too many people think of ‘im as just a character in Shakespeare’s plays but he was real.. He lived. He was buried under a car park for centuries and we finally found him. There’s so much we don’t know about him, and people are barely paying attention. I wish I could have seen him, or met ‘im.”
Describe your thoughts on social media?:
It’s sort of a necessary evil, innit? Get to post my pictures for the world to see on there and still talk to friends I made at Mam’s and Pap’s. Only have the instagram and facebook, myself. I have a page for all my photos called Lucy in Ireland where you can see all my photos. Sometimes peopl’ from around the UK message me asking for a photoshoot so it’s good it gets my name out.
I’ve used the… what is it? Chatsnap? That’s social media right? Honestly I’m not on my phone very often, I get lost in my mind a lot and I don’t need my phone for distraction.
What is your favorite fandom or movie or TV show or book series (choose one)?:
Didn’t watch lots of tv back ‘ome. Too busy outside. When I was a young’in I read Anne of Green Gables. Still got it in drobes.
I wasn’t an orphan like Anne but I was like her - lost in my imagination and thinking of all the hidden things. Mam still has the story I wrote her of Anne disappearing into a forest of pixies to become a tree.
I wanted her red hair. She hated it, but I thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world. ‘Lotta girls in my class had this gorgeous red hair. ‘Touched by fire’ my teached call them. I remember Mam walking in while I was yelling at Anne how lucky she was.
Brought the book with me to school. It sits on the shelf in my dorm, under my picture of home.
Opinion on love and romance?:
Anne taught me love is for whankers. But ya stare at the ocean and see all the people who come to Ireland in love and you start to believe it. I’m still waiting for my prince or princess in shining armor. I think love is beautiful.
I fall in love a little bit everyday, sometimes with a stranger’s smile or their lips. I’m a bit old-fashioned, I want somebody who is gonna sweep me off my feet and carry me into the sunset. I want adventures to new places and hikes at 6 am in the rainforest, holdin’ on to the person I love. I don’t care guy, girl or anything in between, I just want to be loved.
Erm, I fall in love too much though. I fall into bed with somebody and think they’ll love me. They normally don’t.

It is perfectly acceptable for students to contact the Deans whenever they deem it necessary. As we Deans have our own accounts, we can roleplay scenarios with the students on the dash IC after some discussion OOC - we think it would be best to roleplay in a dash thread, rather than through private messages, so that all the other Deans, students and members of staff can watch it unfold.
It may also come in useful later to know how the Deans react to certain things!
Can we still do other replies during the event, like posts not related to Lockdown?

To answer your question--
YES. You are always allowed to do threads outside prompts and challenges. Prompts are just a way to keep the RP on the same page in terms of the timeline and keep everyone alert to the happenings around CCU! Since part 1 only takes place on one day, we full expect that players will want to RP other days (prior to the lockdown) and complete old threads! We never want to rush anyone whatsoever, so feel free to take your time with other threads and prioritize the prompt if that’s the only thing your schedule allows, but if you want to put as much focus into outside threads as well you are absolutely encouraged to do so.

Maybe this is silly- but does the prompt start today or does it start on September 18th??

It is not silly at all, I understand that there might be some slight confusion due to the game and reality having timelines that are so close together. In game, we started school on September 1st, so it is now September 18th in the game for the students. The prompt itself in real life starts today, meaning you can posts as soon as you would like to regarding it.
Just remember, do not go past the prompt time in your threads!

Anywho, you’re in luck! We’ve been perfecting this prompt for a few days. It’s pretty uh-- major-- so it’s going to be in at least 2 major parts followed by a smaller mini prompt or challenge. Those parts we’re still working out as we’d like for it to be good good good, if that makes sense!
But the first part will be shortly released! Just putting some final touches on it.

Just wanted to remind everyone to post their class schedules and make sure they are tagged as ccuschedule! Pick your classes from the link, making sure they make sense for your character’s major/minor while keeping general education in mind if you play a younger student. :)
We may be using schedules in a prompt and we have noticed not everyone has one posted. Those that posted but are not showing up in the tags, we checked individual blogs and found them there.
Please get them posted ASAP so we can finish the prompt! If they are not posted, we will have to ‘god mod’ your character’s location.
