Clothes Choice

E. Switches btwn m+fem. (Dresses+skirts almost as common as trad. Mens clothes.) Wore suit to visit the bridge (mel too).

When out shopping mel points out a skirt for t.

"Daddy look! It looks like (Ezra)'s but you size!" She tries to pull him in but he kneels.

"Sweeheart it is lovely, but I prefer pants"

"But (Ezra) likes skirts, and i do too. We could match!"

"Not everyone is comfortable with such a wide variety of clothes. Some people are like you and Ezzy, happiest with lots of options. Others are more like me, doing best with a familiar set of options, wether that be a uniform, skirt, or pants, Ch'itiseb k'eten."

LET´S GROW UP TOGETHER!

I know nobody will read this...but I just wanted to write my feelings out and ramble a bit...So, today my sister wanted her dress to be shorter and asked our mother for help.

Lena (my sis) was standing in front of the mirror, trying to figure out how short she wanted it to become, then my mom came and said: “Just fold the hem of the dress where you want me to cut it. But don´t make it too short.”

My sister and I started to joke that she should have it cut in the middle of her butt and mom didn´t take it as a joke. She said something about a clothing etiquette and that showing yourself like this isn´t normal.  I immediately started to get angry. I said showing yourself like that is normal, but being ashamed or covering yourself just because community thinks a female body should be covered is wrong.    My mom is raised like that...Older people practically teach their children (especially daughters) to be ashamed of their bodies. They are told: “Your dress is too short!”, “Cover your chest!”  They may say it because they don´t want their little girls to be looked at, but that´s a whole new problem. If boys look at girls´ revealed parts in a perverted way...then they´re simply perverts and their parents should teach THEM a lesson to not think of a girl like she´s just a piece of meat, NOT teach girls to cover themselves so they wouldn´t attract the boys´ attention. This is basically what my mother used to tell my sister(These shorts are way too short! - I remember this one when my sis still lived with us).  So, the point of writing this letter was to tell you that you can wear whatever you want! You can wear your dress to your ankles or to the middle of your beautiful booty! You can wear clothes from the men´s section, even if you are a girl! (vice versa). You don´t have to cover yourself! Just be you! Tell your parents, friends or just people in general: “This is my fucking body, my fucking business and my goddamn choice!”
