trying to figure out how to explain to my roommate that she will simply have to drive me 45min away to pick up a 1910 treadle Singer to somehow fit into our overcrowded 600sqft 1 bedroom apartment....... 🤗 *jazz hands*

pls babe it's in good working condition for under one hundo and my mom is going to pay for it as a belated birthday present (bc i asked her to) 🫣🥺 and. I *did* have to let go of my floor loom, if you recall 😔 and at least it's also not as big as the antique roll-top desk that i loved and also recently had to part with? which broke my heart? 😭 but! which i am being so brave and stoic about. and! i've only brought one of my spinning wheels (the very compact and proportional ashford traditional, ~50yo) (not the behemoth quebec production wheel, antique, ~100–130yo),,,,,, so really, the sewing machine (with cabinet) is soooo reasonable of me 🥰

Mycroft dresses very similarly at home as he does at work. He likes his three-piece suits, with all the layers and accessories. They're bespoke, thus fit perfectly and do not feel restrictive, and, most importantly, they're what he's used to. He's very much a man that takes comfort in the familiar, so he feels no need to change into something 'more comfortable' for the few hours that he is not in the office.

That, and dressing in a way that would be acceptable for work, is sensible from an efficiency point of view. With how hectic things can be, there is always the chance that he will be urgently called into work - otherwise he'd have to waste time getting dressed again should something terrible happen that requires his immediate presence.

Typically, Mycroft wears very plain, silk button-up pyjamas to bed. They cover him up and he likes the feel of the fabric. He has sets with simple colours - blue, red, black, grey, etc. - and nothing fancy to the pattern. The most decoration they have is his initials monogammed onto the breast pocket, and occasionally piping in a complimentary colour.

Mycroft does also own a silk dressing gown, which he was whenever he needs to leave his bedroom in his pyjamas. However, it's rarely used because he usually gets properly dressed before leaving his room.

No, his ring is just an accessory. It’s a family heirloom, and it’s worth a decent amount of money, but it has no meaning past the fact that Mycroft simply likes it.
